Question ABout These Threads

I have a quick question...
When someone asks a question or makes a comment in here and other people give one word answers like Thanks or YW or just make silly remarks so they have alot of Posts, and they use lots of Graphics, doesn't that take up valuable space on the server?
I'm fairly new to computers but I try to limit my posts to sensible questions and very little graphics for this reason. I'm a worrying for no reason?
This is one of my favorite websites and would hate to lose it due to server overload...just wondering. Maybe someone could explain it to me so I can calm down...lol...

Pictures do take up ALOT of space, thats why Steve(wdwmagic, site admin) limits us to putting pics only in the pic forum. I dont think the one liners take up too much space. If steve found that a post was meaningless or sensless he would delete it. Just b/c someones post is one line or very short doesnt mean that it doesnt get the point across.....

Scooter, it does seem like many of us enjoy "drifting" and just plain silliness! However, if we stuck to "just the facts Ma'am" things would be very dull, and the forum might lose lots of members. That's why Steve tries to limit us to chit chat when we're just "talking."

I(and others)have been more than happy to help Steve defray costs; all I ask is that he permit me a little silliness from time to time!

The main area for consuming resources is photos - so there is a dedicated area for that.

It also doesnt help if people repost photos that are either on the main site (www.wdwmagic.com), or elsewhere in another thread. That just wastes diskspace and badnwidth.

In terms of normal text posts, it really doesnt make any difference how many there are. The database is getting bigger, but is should scale (in theory) way beyond what we have right now.

So basically, feel free to post whenever you want to, and as often as you want. It would help if you can keep "on topic" in the main boards, and do any "off topic" talk in the chit chat board.
