I just came back from a week at Disney. We visited all 4 parks - some twice. I saw one recurring thing that really bothered me and I was wondering if I'm alone in this. Does it bother anybody else when you're in the stand-by line for an attraction and are perhaps as far as half way through when one or two people work their way up and past you to get to the rest of their party? It just strikes me as incredibly rude to the 30 - 50 people they had to pass to do this. Why don't they just wait and enter the line together? Or if part of the party is more towards the front of the line and it's really that important that they ride with someone who has just entered the end of the line, can't the people in front step aside and let the line progress past them until the rest of their party catches up to them?
I noticed that Soarin' in Epcot is especially bad for this type of behavior and I'm thinking that perhaps the width of the line is partly to blame. You can fit probably 6 people shoulder to shoulder all the way across that line. Since most parties are less than 6 people this leaves a decent sized "empty aisle" up one side of the stand-by line on this ride and makes it really easy for people to cut past dozens of people. While the wait can approach 60 minutes for many on this ride, some breeze by and can do the stand-by line in 15 or less.
We always entered each attraction as a group. If somebody had to make a pit stop before the ride, we all waited and got in line together. Is this a normal practice for others??? Am I too sensitive about this??
What is everybody else's take on this?
