They have been testing a NEW Tinkerbell effect over at the MK. The effect uses the current "line" system, as it appears now. However there has been QUITE an upgrade to the movement of the system. Now tinker bell can fly BACK UP TO THE CASTLE. As well as RAISE and LOWER herself up and down. She can also turn almost 360* as well.

The speed of this is quite insane. I'd call it a "Reverse Dive Bombing Tinker Bell Run".... that fast! The test also used a new Tinkerbell, a very "Spectromagic" looking Tinkerbell. In other words, she appeared in her "non-human" state.

I have no idea when/if this new element will make it into the normal show, however if it does be prepare to be simply AMAZAED at what you see.

Wow! This is amazing news and will be spectacular to see if it does occur. But I need more details. You say she was in non-human form? Was this just for the test? What does it look like?

This might be the system that Disneyland Paris have just began using in their nightly show over this summer. In that, Tink makes several trips up and down the cable, it seems that have a motorised pulley system to get her to ascend back up. They also used some very effective pyro for her pixie dust on the way up and down the cable. However in Paris, due to various health and saftey issue, they no longer use a human for tink.

This all sounds very interesting to see... but I don't know if I'm a fan of the "non-human" Tink... I guess I'd just have to see what it looks like...

They've been using you, rob? ;)
Somehow, I knew that was going to happen!! :)

This will be a great addition when / if they decide to use the bi-directional Tink! Looking forward to seeing how it will be implemented into Wishes. Now, let's say they get this working, why couldn't they use other characters as appropriate with the show?

ive seen wishes once and missed tink...shes played by a human? i thought it was a doll the whole time..but then again i didnt see her

does it look funny that shes that big? i thought making it a doll would be more life-size:confused:

I thought that Tink already had the ability to revolve 360 degrees, if she wanted. I seem to remember being stationed right below the cable one night, near the restrooms between Tomorrowland and Main Street U.S.A., and seeing her revolving as she decended the cable. I always envision a giant pillow up there, on the roof that she "crash lands" into.

IMHO, Tink needs to be human!! Disney's Peter Pan was different from the other's for many reasons, one being Peter Pan was a male, not female, and 2nd being that Tinkerbell was portrayed as a tiny woman instead of a ball of dust, or light. I think that sets the "Disney Difference". Tink could fly up and down, and still be human. She could be Human like, but portraying her as light or dust would take away the Disney from the classic Peter Pan.

Actually, goonsquads57 is not far from wrong. I was told on a Keys of the Kingdom tour that there are no breaks on that wire, so when "Tink" gets past a certain point where no one can see her, she literally gets into crash position and gets stopped by a cushion (I can't imagine it's any fun). I've also been told that "Tink" gets weighed before she gets hooked up and has to be within a few pounds of a target weight to be able to "fly".
