The user reputation system provides a way of rating users based on the quality of their posts. Users on WDWMAGIC can add or subtract reputation points from other users by clicking the reputation link (balance icon) in the posts. The degree of influence on someones reputation, is determined by how long a voting member has been here, their number of posts, and their own reputation.
User reputations allow you to have a say in which users are quality and which users are not. And in response to user feedback, the forum has the ability to label users for the quality of their posts, as is indicated by their reputation.
This is currently being introduced as a trial, and depending how it goes, may or may not be here to see. I will be interested in hearing your feedback as always.

Even the few people who might abuse this should be countered by all of us responsible people who give good rep points where deserved and bad reps where also deserved. All of us long time users should just utilize those rep buttons pretty regularly--we have the heavy votes that will counter any trolls who come in and vote poorly.
