Wow! That's really cool. I'd love to be flying into Orlando on that plane. It's like starting your vacation a little early because you'd be flying to the World with Tink!!!! Awesome!

I seem to recall hearing that this plane would be used primarily to transport "Wish" families (Make a Wish, Starlight, etc.) to Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Actually, Alaska Airlines, I think, only goes to Disneyland area.

That's the "Magic of Disneyland" airplane and was introduced in 2005 for Disneyland's 50th anniversary celebration. Yes, it only goes to Disneyland. No, it's not used for the Make-A-Wish flights. That would be the "Spirit of Make-A-Wish" plane, which has the Genie from "Aladdin" painted on it.

Those planes are cool! I've never seen them in the sky before...the only cool looking plane I've seen is the Shamu one, which I've been on.

Thanks for the correction. I had vague memories of a blue Alaska Airlines plane and Make-a-Wish and jumped to conclusions.

Wow, I sounded a little curt there, didn't I? That's what I get for posting when I'm being rushed at work. Sorry if it seemed like I was picking on you. :)

BTW, just to finish out the trifecta, Alaska Airlines also has the "Spirit of Disneyland" plane that it rolled out in 2002:

Alaska Airlines flies daily non-stop jet service to Orlando International Airport. http://www.alaskaair.com/as/alaska/images/asqxroutemap.pdf Alaska Airlines at Orlando International Airport operates out of Terminal A, using gates 1 through 29.

They currently offer daily non-stop jet service from Portland and Seattle to Orlando, in addition to their flights to Chicago, Boston, Miami, Washington DC and several other cities east of the Rockies.

Of course Alaska Airlines is predominantly a West Coast airline, and instead of just the two flights per day into Orlando both Alaska Airlines and their commuter airline Horizon Air offer literally dozens of flights per day into the six different major international airports that serve the Los Angeles metro area, and thus Disneyland. Alaska also serves the two major airports in San Diego County and those additional Disneyland bound visitors. John Wayne Airport, about 15 minutes south of Disneyland, is the closest and offers many, many daily flights on Alaska Airlines from many West Coast destinations.

The special 737's painted in Disneyland livery can often be seen at John Wayne Airport. Although I've also seen them at LAX and Burbank airports recently. It would be great if they started up service between John Wayne and Orlando with a Disney theme plane, although I doubt there would be much of a market for that route.

These are special paint schemes/liveries promoting Disneyland California on Alaska Airlines flights. There are/were 3 liveries on 3 different aircraft I think. Two of these are available in the form of 1:400 scale aircraft models produced by Gemini Jets if any of you are interested. Check around the internet with searches such as "Gemini Jets Disney" or something like that. I have the two available 1:400 GJ's, and they make nice collectibles. However, that's because I collect these models as well as other things.
