Swan vs Dolphin

Does anyone have a preference between the WDW Swan and Dolphin? I know that you lose the on-site "Disney" magic and several other perks but I love the location and the price....I am having a difficult time figuring out which one....Swan or Dolphin?

Thanks,
Andrea

Usually the Swan is a more low key that the Dolphin, Remember that the Convention Center in the Dolphin is Huge so more people stays at the Dolphin.

The Swan is doing some rooms so you may get lucky and get one of the newer ones. There are some great views from the Swan that from the Dolphin.

Even that Swan is Westin and Dolphin is Sheraton, is almost as is the same hotel.

In my humble opinion I would stay in Swan.

The Swan & Dolphin are very similar. The main difference is that with the Dolphin, everything is on a larger scale. I have stayed at the Dolphin during conventions and honestly, since it has it's own wing you do not notice much. I have walked through the Swan and it seems awesome too, just slighty smaller. Also, the Dolphin has the quick food/cafeteria which for some is an important factor.

One way or another, both places are amazing and I hope you have a great time at either!

go with the swan

I have stayed in both. The Swan is better for a couple of reasons. First, the beds are bigger (Q v. D). Second, there are fewer people and fewer rooms, so it is easier to navigate. The only real advantage of the Dolphin are the on-site convenience store (used to be Tubbi's) and the laundry. I liked the dolphin, but the swan is my choice.

To be honest, they feel almost interchangeable to me. As other's have mentioned, the Swan is a tad more low key because its capacity is lower.

Either way, you really can't lose...

The Swan does not have any sort of counter service food. If you come back in the evening and are hungry, you're out of luck. I think someone said the Dolphin had more options. I stayed at the Swan when my husband had a work thing. I enjoyed the location, but if I were with the kids, I would chose something with more Disney magic.

The Dolphin is only about a 2 minute walk from the Swan though, so it would not be hard for you to get to the 24hour counter service restaurant at the Dolphin. :)
