Thank you to Wilt Dasney for helping me word this and come up with the scoring system!
It's top 12 time, and if you're convinced you know who's going to rise to the top, here's your chance to prove it. All you have to do to play is rank each of the remaining contestants in order from first to worst. Here's the deal: You get ONE shot at figuring out what order the Idols will finish the season in. Points are awarded based on how long you correctly anticipate players hanging around, and the longer your picks stay alive, the more points you get. It's a little complex, but basically the game will work like this:
In a 4-person contest, you rank the contestants as follows
1. Mickey
2. Minnie
3. Goofy
4. Donald
If Donald loses in Week 1, you would get the maximum points available for having all three survivors right. If Minnie then loses in Week 2, you would only get points for Mickey, since you only got one of the top 2 right. A Mickey win in Week 3 would give you big-time points for picking the winner.
The ins and outs of scoring are at the bottom of this post, but just remember that you're shooting to correctly guess who will hang around after each week, and not necessarily who will be voted out (even though there's obviously a connection).
You have until Tuesday the 13th, 8 p.m. EST to get your guesses in. This game is all about prediction and hunches...you have to pick the order they will finish based only on the performances they've already given!
Simply reply to this thread and rank the 12 idol finalists 1-12 (1 being best, 12 being worst). Guess carefully, because these are the choices you'll be stuck with for the next 11 weeks.
The 12 contestants to rank are: Blake Lewis, Gina Glocksen, Brandon Rogers, Chris Richardson, Haley Scarnato, Jordin Sparks, Chris Sligh, Lakisha Jones, Melinda Doolittle, Phil Stacey, Stephanie Edwards, Sanjaya Malakar.
I'll take care of the scoring and give an updated total at the end of each week.
