Nibblesandbits Amazingly Wonderful Trip Report Number 5 (Sept. 21-25)

Well, I'm officially back from a wonderful time at the World. And I know what you all are thinking...Trip Report! Trip Report! Which of course, I shall do. :)

Pre-show:

This trip was actually a "last minute trip" for us. Not a lot of time for lenghthy planning for me. My husband (commonly known around here at What's His Face or WHF, for short) and I were originally planning a trip to California this year. We were supposed to see Disneyland and visit some of what California had to offer. Unfortunately, WHF got a new job this year and didn't want to take all that time off.

Also, coinciding with that, WHF got me an AP for my birthday this year...my very first AP! I was so excited. Now, needless to say, when you've got an AP, it burns a hole in your pocket. So, since we weren't going to California, we should go back down to Florida. And, WHF wouldn't have to take as many days off work if we went to Florida, so less than 2 months beforehand, we set the date.

And, set the date we did. My trip was scheduled for the dates of Sept. 21-25 for a few reasons. Number 1. my friend Bunny would be down there for part of the same time I would be and I really wanted to see her and her family. Number 2. I really wanted to visit the Adventurer's Club for one last time. Number 3. I wanted to go this year in Sept. so I could get another use next Sept. out of my APs.

Finally, after a very short wait, it was time to go!!!

Busy Day

I'm going to Disney World! I'm going to Disney World!!!!

So, we get up on this glorious Sunday morning...and guess what? We're running late, as per usual. Which I think ticked my dad off a bit...since he's the one who had to get up early to drive us to the airport. Oops.

Luckily, we live REALLY close to the airport...so our lateness was not a problem. We got through security with no problems what-so-ever. And I was hungry, so I went to get a breakfast sandwich. Best breakfast sandwich I'd ever eaten in my entire life. *drools at the thought of the really good bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich* Ahem...anyway....

So, this trip, we were flying AirTran. Usually I fly Southwest, but Southwest wasn't giving me any good deals for flights to Orlando. I found out about AirTran here and saw they had lower flight prices than Southwest, so I thought, what the heck...I'll give them a try. I have to say, I know I've heard some grumbles about AirTran and changing their flight times, but I had a very pleasant experience with them and I would certainly use them again. Now this means I have 2 choices to choose from when planning future trips down to Orlando, which I like. The only other problem with AirTran is that from St. Louis, they usually don't have non-stop flights. You usually have to get off at their hub in Atlanta.

Anyway...so, we're finally in Orlando!!! Yay!!! We got in the really long ME bus line...then got on the ME bus and waited for a LONG time for the bus to load. Seriously sat there for like 15 minutes. Finally we were off to Pop Century.

We love staying at Pop because it's cheaper and it's fun. And now, we can say we've been in almost every single section, as this time, they put us in the 50s. (All that's left for us is the 60s, but I'm not paying the extra money to stay there...) I really liked staying in the 50s section. It still seemed close to the lobby area, which was nice. And if we took a short cut, we'd be right at the front with the busses.

Checking in:

We were in the Jukebox building all the way at the end:

Now it was time to head to:

We got there and activated our APs. What a cool feeling to know that you have an active AP in your hands...wait...no, it's not b/c that means I want to go all the time now! We also went to Guest Relations to get the new DDE card (I won't call it by that stupid name they have for it...but if anyone wants to see what it looks like, I can take a picture of it and post it later.)

So, first things first...where to head? It was a no brainer:

This was my first time riding TSMM. They had a 70 minute wait posted, but luckily, it only turned out to be 45. Which made me a happy girl. It also made me a happy girl that I mopped the floor with my husband. (Well, ok, I'm exaggerating...but I did beat him!) I know it's been talked about, but I LOVED TSMM!!! I thought it was such a cool ride and you really do want to go right back on it once you're done. Unfortunately, we had things to do...so we'd be back to ride another day.

Next, we got in line for Muppets and walked right in. Which bummed me out a bit...I like the pre-show there. But, we had things to do...so there was no time to wait for the pre-show this time.

The Muppet Balloon is all done:

After Muppets, we saw that the new Cars Meet & Greet section was open...so we stood in line and met them.

Once that was over, we headed immediately to 50s Prime Time. I was really excited about this one. We'd been there last year and thought it was really good. This year, since it was a last minute trip and free dining while we were there, I thought we'd have no shot at getting into any ressies...I was wrong. We got prime time at 50s. 6:05...and there were times all around it. So it wasn't just a cancelation. Don't know how it happened, but I'm glad it did...dinner was delicious.

I had the Pot Roast and the Smores for dessert. WHF had the Fried Chicken (you'll notice a theme with us these next few days and chicken...) and a strawberry shake.

So, I was hungry:

After our delish dinner...we went to Epcot by the Friendship boat. Our first time taking this from The Studios to Epcot. I liked it! It was also our first time walking in through the International Gateway, which I also liked. We ended up using the Gateway a lot this trip!

We got to Epcot and British Invasion was onstage! Yay!!! I love the Beatles!!!

Once they were done, we got a great spot for Illuminations. I couldn't believe how great it was! And with 30 minutes to go!

Some shots from Illuminations, in no particular order:

I have more...I might post later.

From there, we hurried our little booties up to get to Magic Kingdom for EEMH! Yay! 3 parks in one short, tiring day!!!

We hit Pirates, Splash, and HM...which sadly, was our only trip on HM this time.

More pics from MK that night:

Great report thus far. Good to hear that the wait times are starting to go down on TSM! I can't wait to read and see more!

Did I miss something, or did you arrive in Orlando AND visit three parks all in the same day? That is something!

Well, the wait time went back up a bit the second time we rode...it was posted as 60 min and the wait was 60...but still, that's way down from what it was this summer.

And yes...we arrived in Orlando AND did 3 parks in one day. :)
