I'm kinda glad that I'm moving and won't need a ticket for several years

If this is true, I'm quite glad I ordered my 10-day no expiration MYW Water park fun and more tickets on Monday. Those should last me three trips!

AP getting renewed before August 22nd with 35 bucks knocked off of the original 361.04.....unlimited visits to 4 parks for an entire year all for the low price of 326.04! Sounds like a steal.

Translation: vacation packages / ticket prices for 2008 come out next week and they are more expensive?

I would assume that ticket prices will be increased on Monday 8/06. This would have nothing to do with the release of 2008 packages, but I have been known to be wrong.

I heard that Disney will eliminate the early buy discount for MYW tickets over 4 days. Dont know if its true or not.

So you are saying that because the 08 rates will be out on Monday that I should go ahead and buy my tickets for Sept. now. Why would the 08 rates effect 07, or should I even ask?

Rates and ticket prices are two different things.

They can raise room rates and ticket prices. Or they can raise room rates and leave ticket prices alone. Or they can leave room rates alone and raise ticket prices. Or they can leave both alone.

But as far as I know, they always raise both. And, while I may be wrong, I think the new rates kick in with the new year, but ticket prices can be raised immediately...as in one person paying one price on August 1, for example, and someone else paying a higher price August 2. Like I said, I may be wrong, but I think that's how it works.

So if they raise both room rates and ticket prices, the 2008 room rates won't kick in until 2008, but a ticket price increase could take place immediately.

Can anyone confirm if I have that right?

Convoluted, but yes you got it right.

Package and room rates are usually released in mid-August for the full upcoming calendar year. Ticket prices are usually promulgated to Travel Agents a few days before the formal announcement, but when announced they are in effect the following Sunday [if the last two hikes were any pattern].

They already raised ticket prices this year. I would be surprised if they raised them again. But, then again, we are talking about the almighty Disney!

The last time WDW ticket prices went up was 6 August, 2006. That increase was announced in a press release on the 4th of August. The previous increase was announced in a Dec 31, 2005 press release and prices increased Jan 1, 2006.

In both instances, the price was announced only one or two days prior to a Sunday implementation date [1 Jan and 6 Aug '06 were both Sundays].
