    Visiting end of Jan 2013

We were at Disneyland yesterday to try out the renovated Carnation Cafe. It was such a disappointment; I definitely would not recommend it. We have had numerous breakfasts there, and loved the cinnamon roll French toast. It is no longer on the menu, and I cannot find that it is available...

    Sentimental problem

Her next day off is not until next Wednesday, so it sounds like afarese may be able to find it sooner for you. I think there is also a phone number you can call to get merchandise information - we used this many years ago to replace a sweatshirt. Maybe somebody else can provide the number?

Best place to eat at Downtown Disney (Disneyland)?

I would suggest Catal for breakfast. They have a 2nd floor balcony and it is lots of fun to watch all the people scurrying to get into the park. Plus the breakfast offerings are really good! Our favorite restaurant is Napa Rose, especially at the chef's counter. We have also dined at...

    Sentimental problem

Our daughter is a CM at DisneyWorld. If you can tell me at which store you bought it, I can have her check and see if she can find one for you. I think we all understand sentimentality and Disney!

    ATTN: Photographers - Tripod Question

I Took 2 bodies, and 3 L lenses (biggest being a 70/200 2.8is) in for the CP Sunday night and didn't even get a second look. I think it depends on who is going to be in the park that day, last thing they want is a gaggle of paparazzi following a guest around.

Help with food & wine booking...

We were able to get into the Boardwalk this year for the 2nd week in October, and we made our reservations in mid-June. We couldn't book earlier, as we just got our DVC points in June. We were looking for a Monday->Sunday, and initially were able to get everything except Thursday night at the...

Favourite places to watch Illuminations??? Obvious or Personal???

The Illuminations Fireworks Cruise is available for guests. It was provided as part of the package ("Platinum") that we previously used when we visited WDW. I'm not sure of the cost; you would need to call the Recreation number for details. Pontoon boats are used, and they seat up to 10...

Favourite places to watch Illuminations??? Obvious or Personal???

From the boat parked under the bridge between England and France. We've done the Illuminations Cruise several times - rain or shine. It is a very special experience for us. Second would be leaning on on the railing of the bridge between England and France. Last year on our last night of our...

    Signature Dining...

Flying Fish. We always start off our trip going to the Flying Fish for dinner, and it has never disappointed. We also sit at the bar overlooking the kitchen for a great perspective of dinner preparations. Jiko would be a close second.

Made event reservations for the Food and Wine Festival today

So did we! My DH got up at 4AM (California time) and it took 25 minutes to get our reservations. We are going to the Party for the Senses as well as Adventures in Wine and a French Regional Lunch. This is our second trip for the F&W; we are really looking forward to it!

    Wait Lists???

We are going in October to the F&W, and made our reservations in early June (just closed escrow on the points so couldn't do it earlier). We had to do a wait list for the Boardwalk - the DVC CM was exceptionally nice and spent a long time trying to find anything for us that was the 6 nights we...

    October 2009 Role Call!!!

My DH and I are going to be there on October 5-11 for the F&W Festival; staying at the Boardwalk with its wonderful proximity to EPCOT. This is our 9th trip to WDW (from California!), and will be our first as DVC members and our first time staying at the Boardwalk! Thanks for creating this...

Which WDW tour do you recommend?

If you have an interest in animals, I would recommend the Backstage Safari tour in AK. We have done it several times. You get to see backstage areas and some animals (we got to pet a white rhino several years ago!), and also get your own safari tour. Tour participants do have to be 16 years old.

Does Disney really listen to customer complaints about a Cast Member?

We've been to WDW 8 times, and always stayed at the Beach Club as part of our Platinum Plan package. On our visit in 2008, we had a horrible experience at the Beach Club with a CM on check-in. I even tried to get somebody else to help us, but this person was apparently the "ranking" CM. When...

    October Weather?

We were there last year on those dates, and we were astonished at how nice the weather is! We usually go in August, and had associated WDW with high (overwhelming) humidity. But the October/November weather was extremely pleasant - very reminiscent of California weather. I don't think it even...

    Figment Merchandise

We spent yesterday at DL/DCA for my birthday. My daughter (19 years old) had to spend some time on her own as my DH and I attended a wine seminar as part of the F&W festival. She went through the Art of Disney store in DCA and saw the Figment astronaut porcelain figure and told me about it...

    Upgrades at Resorts

We received an upgrade several years ago when we were staying the first night of our stay at the Animal Kingdom. I had purchased a room for 1 night at AKL so that our DD could see all the animals, and then we were starting a 7-day package at the Beach Club. The same Disney agent handled all...
