POLL: Have you ever had to evacuate a ride at WDW?

I've had several evacs but most exciting was Pirates. My boat was stopped shortly before the drop, and it seems was at a point that the CMs could not do an evacuation from themselves so they had to wait for Reedy Creek to arrive. In the end, Reedy Creek tied three boats together and helped...

    Soarin' Evacuation (7/16/19)

If Guest Relations is not close by or has a long line, you can also check with Guest Experience Team cast members around the park. I had a prior issue where a ride broke down and the fastpass they were giving upon exit did not correctly go on the Magicband for some reason, and a Guest Experience...

    DINOSAUR - Strange Testing

Dinosaur also has some large signs before the load station about following lights on the floor in the event of an emergency, which seems like there might be certain cases where the seatbelts would unlock and guests would be on their own to start an evacuation.

    My first evac

My most exciting evac was on Pirates last fall. One of the boats ahead got stuck as it approached the drop. The CMs had the guests in that boat try to rock it free, but were unsuccessful so they had to evac the ride. The CMs said that section of the ride is the only one they cannot evac guests...

    Disney World Construction jobs

I believe that although much of the construction work is done by Buena Vista Construction Company, Disney also has their own internal team of project managers and construction specialists in their Facility Asset Management department - jobs for that department should show up on the Disney...

    Shark Reef Life Jackets

Some of my family members are not very strong swimmers, but would like to experience Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon. I've read that life jackets used to be available to aid in floating across - are they still available? And are they only available in child sizes or are they also available to...

Wild animals at Walt Disney World

Back in March, the Liberty Bell Riverboat had some mechnical issue on board that caused lots of black smoke to billow out the top , which seemed to scare an alligator that lived in the Rivers of America causing him to swim to the bridge near the wooden walkway heading from the Riverboat...

Tarps at Bakery & Pecos Bill

Last week tarps were back up at the Main Street Bakery and at Pecos Bill. Didn't they just refurb these areas last year? Does anyone know if this is just more repainting or something more major?

Massive Beehive in Main Street Tree

Quick MK update: today, one of the trees along Main Street at MK (between the bakery and Confectionary) was roped off (along with CMs guarding the area) because there was a massive beehive near the top of the tree. The roped off area was fairly small at mid-afternoon but became much larger by...

Christmas Party Parade & Snow today?

It has snowed the past two evenings on Main Street and it should continue through at least this weekend. If you go down Main Street in between the parade and MMY slideshow, you should be able to see the snow. CMs said it should also snow after the fireworks as well.

    Reindeer at Osborne Lights

Are all of the reindeer lights working again at the Osborne lights? I was there last Friday and something apparently went wrong with one of the electrical circuits on the reindeer overhead, because in the middle of one of the songs, all but two of the reindeer lights went out and smoke...

    Disney buses, good or bad?

Overall, the bus service is good. Usually, it is not more than a 15-20 minute wait at any of the stops. I have only had two bad experiences on the buses: 1) We were trying to go from All Star Movies to Magic Kingdom. The bus driver got confused and thought the bus was going to Epcot, and took...

    Not So Magic Kingdom question

It was an optional path on 12/22. CMs were recommending to passing guests to use the path, but not requiring it. It did save at least 5-10 minutes over what it would have taken to walk down the packed Main Street and provided a very interesting behind the scenes look :).

    Not So Magic Kingdom question

I believe they open that pathway up when the park is very full (which happens frequently between Christmas and New Years). I had been there from 12/15-12/22. The first day I saw them use the pathway was 12/22. I enjoyed the quick glance at backstage. It was odd to look back from the Christmas...

Space Mountain.....Down for ALL of 2008?

Not sure how accurate this is, but last week one of the Tomorrowland CMs was saying that Space Mountain will close around June 1, 2008 for the refurbishment, which should take about one year.

    Parks crowd level

Crowds were not too bad this past week, except for Saturday (Dec 22). MK was very crowded yesterday (Space had a 120 minute wait, Big Thunder Mountain had a 70 minute wait, Splash had a 20 minute wait, most other major attractions were 45-60 minutes). After the fireworks, they opened the...
