    Gimbals in the parks

I just purchased a DJI gimbal for use with my iPhone, are there restriction on its use in the park, considering the ban on selfie sticks?

    Birthday Perk

Just out of curiosity-I will be going to Disney in June with my girlfriend, and it will be her first trip, as well as her birthday. What perks can I shamelessly ask for to make this trip extra special?

    12hr drive advice/on site/off site

When I did the drive, since we knew we'd arrive in Orlando late in the afternoon, we stayed in an inexpensive, off-site hotel. Just better, as I was exhausted from the drive, and everyone just wanted to eat and chill out. Next morning it was off to check in early at our on-site hotel, and right...

Why Do So Many People Dislike the Dining Plan?

I think some guests are unreasonable in their expectations, and don't properly plan out the cost and benefits. The DDP is designed for guests who are willing to make the investment in the meals. About a year ago I booked a trip with discounted DDP for President's week. As this would be my...

How Many Nights Do You Spend at MK?

It depends on time of year, dining plans and EMH. For example, on my trip in Feb during President's week, our flight landed at 5pm, so MK was really the only option for a 7pm arrival at a park (that night the MK closed at midnight). Also, if crowds are light, AK and DHS can be completely taken...

What does a 10 crowd level feel like??

A few years ago I went during Christmas week, my daughter and I took in the MK fireworks Christmas eve. There was no room to stand without brushing against other guests. Exit was so crowded that we routed out exit through Tomorrowland, and it took over two hours to get back to Pop Century...

most comfortable shoes for the park?

I think socks are just as important as the shoes (I always bring a well-broken in pair of sneakers). In the past I was susceptible to blisters, so a friend pointed me to a line of moisture-wicking socks sold at BJs. During my trip in February, no blisters over the entire week....

Looking for some retro EPCOT t-shirts

On my last trip to Epcot, I bought a 1982 retro T-shirt, quite nice...

    Teenager Worries

I brought my 14 and 12 year old recently, and the most important part is to get the involved in the planning. My kids are big Disney fans, and despite being enormous thrill ride fans, they enjoy Disney for what it is. They particularly were excited about pin collecting, dining and exploring...

Your stuff when you go on a ride?

I personally like the Universal approach, free lockers for a short duration. It takes the hassle out of cramming purchases and cameras on the ride. Other parks like Six Flags charge for ride lockers....

Epcot : help with place to eat please

Maybe I'm spoiled, as my kids have always been adventurous eaters, but I take the opportunity at EPCOT to let them challenge their palettes. Their first trip, when they were 6 and 4, we did the Princess Buffet at Norway as a way to introduce Scandinavian food, then had dinner later at...

Lots of snack credits left over!

What we did was use our snack allotments on quickie breakfast items like muffins or bagels at the hotel, freeing us to use our QSR allotments for lunch when we really needed a break...

How early can you check into Resort?

I do online check-in, then drop my bags the bell desk. Usually get a text between 2-4 pm that the room is ready. Never had a problem in all my years...

Best places to view 'Wishes' in Magic Kingdom?

I was there in February, if they changed it, it was recently.

    Southwest's Seating Policy

I usually pay for Early Bird check-in, which gets you an A group boarding. I don't think it's necessary to ensure a group sits together, it's just I like to make sure I'm at the front of the plane (and off as soon as possible) and have plenty of overhead space available.

Best places to view 'Wishes' in Magic Kingdom?

I used a FP for wishes, which is in one of two areas just in front of the Crystal Palace. I had enough room to set up a small tripod, and there was enough room that the tripod wasn't interfering with any guests.

    Crowds in August and FP

In my experience, you should book the FPs for early in the day. If you find that the attraction has a short line when you get there, you should have plenty of choices to switch the FP to. Also booking your FPs early in the day allows you a better selection for your bonus FP.

Resort To Park Gates: Bus vs Car

If you have a car already, it's a no-brainer for Epcot, AK and DHS to drive. If your luck breaks badly, you can be waiting 20 minutes for a bus, then about another 20 minute trip. Walking time from the bus stops to the gates are about 5-10 minutes. Since the MK buses bypass the TTC, cars are...

    Room size/Air mattress

It's hardly a hassle, the air mattress takes almost no space when deflated, and the pump is maybe a pound...
