It's the building in the back painted to look like the sky. The "facade" is actually the queue that leads into it. Here's the interior:

The capacity is supposed to be comparable to the Hyperion at DCA, so it should be around 2,000. And although it may not be as ornate as the theater it's based on, at leasts it's better themed than the Hyperion:

What looks like the building is just a facade. You walk through the front doors to an exterior queue and load through some fire-escape-like stairways on the side of the building. Hopefully, it won't be like that here.

Yup, and it's at the end of their Hollywoodland street, so it's an even worse eyesore. With now Tokyo and Orlando getting beautifully themed theaters, it must be frustrating to be California fans who've been wishing for an upgrade for years now.

Just added some trees next to the building.

Fixes most of the issues.

Hides the huge plain wall on the side of the theater, makes it look cozier and looks more like an actual street and not a parking lot

Where is this going? Will center street finally have a purpose that will protect it from being absorbed by eminent domain into a store front. If center street becomes a thorough fsir it'll loose a bit of its peacefulness but thankfully its charm will be preserved.

It's going off the bypass behind main street.

So I don't know how the queuing at Hyperion works as I've not been to a show there, but it strikes me that there's a lot of space along the bypass corridor.

It would be nice for them to improve the distinctiveness of the shops (more interesting content) if they develop the fronts along the bypass corridor.

I agree that this is exactly what MK needs to improve capacity, much more than Tron

This is the big DisneySea Theater in American Waterfront.
They also have another 2 theaters in Lost River Delta and Mermaid Lagoon

If they were to open the bypass full time, is there anything keeping them from having the shops on that side of the street getting a way to enter/exit from that side?

Yes, sadly. The backside of the shops of usually backstage/stock/break space.
