  • Heya Tikiman ... We've just booked for early Feb at Poly. I haven't seen any pics of the construction progress on WDWmagic. With regards to the DVC expansion (Villas), have you heard when they expect to start construction in earnest?

They started two days ago. I have some photos on my tikimanpages facebook page. They have up a soil barrier and soon the main walls will go up to keep people away from the construction. I would expect to see Tahiti and Rapa Nui to close soon after.
Hi! I am planning a trip Thanksgiving 2013. We have a six-year old girl. We are booked club level at Polynesian, but I have become a little worried about the possibility of construction going on at that time. I have thought about the club level at Wilderness Lodge, and we like the idea of having a hot tub there. First WDW trip together. Thanks!

Well all the new rooms in the longhouses should be done by October. Not sure when they will be putting the hot tub in. You will save money going to WL but with a 6 year old the lounge at the Club level at the Polynesian is awesome for viewing fireworks and relaxing for the whole family. Also what 6 year old would not love the monorail stopping at their resort?

Some longhouses should be finished with King beds but make sure you book a king bed, not just request. You could book the honeymoon suite. It has a king bed and jetted tub.
Tikiman, you seem to be the man with the info on the Polynesian (love your website btw). I will be surprising my gf with a move from POP to the Poly the day that I ask her to marry me. We have booked a standard view room and booked throb a travel agent who has requested a king size bed for us. Do you know whether they will be able to accommodate this request?

It depends on when you are checking into the Polynesian. The rooms currently do not have king beds but one of the changes with the new rooms will be some rooms with king beds. They will be booked that way so you can make sure you get one.
Next gathering will be at the Aulani resort in Oahu 2012. No party like at Tikifest but many of the Tikifest people will be there and we already got discounted rates after working with the Aulani staff.
Love your site! We are staying at the Poly on our trip next year and your site helped us pick what building we're staying in. (Tokelau, btw.) We ate for the first time at the Kona Cafe last year and my whole family truly enjoyed it. My DH is the one who suggested staying there (I admit, my first choice was the Contemporary.) but the more research I did I'm really looking forward to staying there. People who stay there seem to not just like it but LOVE it. Can't wait! Thanks for your site, too!
Echoing the other messages here, I love your site! The Polynesian Village is one of my top two favorite places in the entire world, and you certainly seem to get what makes it special.
THanks for the help been big help. Just one more thing, I know this one is asking alot, you have any suite information? This is the only thing that it seems no one has about any resort, do not know why this is so hush hush. Oh and this should be the last time I bother you.
I really hate to be a pain, but i can not see the numbers in the plan (could very much be my monitor). Would you be able to E-Mail me those at alanbrai@yahoo.com.
Love the site, was wondering though if you happen to have or know how each longhouse has it's rooms numbered. I am tring to get each resorts room numbers and the number layouts and i am having trouble finding anything on the Poly (without actually going there). If you don't not to worry can always go and visit
    Thanks
Love your web site, Poly is our favorite resort also. We missed out on the first Tikifest and will have to miss the one this year too. Keep them coming though and we will get there eventually. Thanks again for the great work you do on your web site
Hi--are you Tikiman, the Polynesian Resort expert? I visit your website all the time!! IN fact, you recently sent me the Poly soundtrack (which my whole family listens to all the time!). Thanks again, if this is, indeed, you!
