That's what I read too. Although it's weird, I thought this was an official Disney announcement about the closing and start of construction but I can't find an original source anywhere. Here's the post from the OC Register, but again no link to the official announcement:

Micechat has a thread where someone posted what looks like an internal cast memo about reservations for Carousel Inn and Suites. So maybe this hasn't been publicly announced. Just to some resort cast members who book reservations.

Inexpensive tacky motels are scattered all around the Anaheim Resort. What's so special about the Carousel Inn?

There is nothing special about it except a normal pool on the roof. The motel doesn't even have a carousel. Kind of false advertising.

I hear they are moving all of these guests to the Disneyland Hotel at no additional costs. Of course the rooms are actually a cot in the parking garage...1 guest per stall please.

Besides just being a cheap motel surrounded by others of dubious quality? Location Location Location. It's right across the street from the main entrance of DL. Stayed there in March on my corporate discount and it was fine. I've stayed at better and stayed at worse.

It was really only a matter of time before the hotel was actually closed once Disney acquired the property. The Carousel Inn links the property on the other side to DL It will most likely be used to link the two.

Edit: I just checked their website and everything past October is blacked out. It would seem that they are closing operations.
