Trip Report Whoa, Wait a Minute......Weren't You JUST There??!! *COMPLETED*

Hi, my name is Tuvalu and I am a Disneyholic.

(Go on, respond "Hi Tuvalu." I'll wait.)

My last trip to WDW was June 4-12, 2016. Before that May 3-8, 2016. Before that April 3-9, 2016. And my first trip of 2016 was February 18-22. If you are curious about those trip reports, they can be found here:

February ~ http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/up-where-they-walk-up-where-they-run-19-3-miles.910930/ (Written by my DDD ~ Darling Disney Daughter :p)
April ~ http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/go-with-the-flow-its-spring-break-you-know-completed.912354/
May ~ http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/relaxin-on-the-rue-dbaga-completed.913182/

In the interest of full disclosure, I have three more trips planned for 2016 ~ July, October and December.

Can't. Stop. Going.

It is never my intention to be boastful about my vacation frequency. I am very aware of how fortunate I am. If not for the good friends I have made on this site, I would not be posting trip reports at all. So a big thank you to all who have encouraged and supported me. Your kindness means a lot.

Now, on with our most recent adventure!

The deets:
Cast ~ Tuvalu, Woody and Em
Date ~ June 4-12, 2016
Resorts ~ Port Orleans French Quarter & Polynesian Village

Stay tuned....

Monday, June 6

I could hear the rain falling off and on throughout the night and awakened prepared for the worst. This wasn't our first experience with a named tropical storm the first week of June ~ Tropical Storm Andrea battered us badly in 2013 with ridiculous amounts of rain! :arghh:

So when Woody and I went down to the lounge for breakfast and it wasn't raining, I was optimistic.

I was also in for another pleasant surprise:

OATMEAL!! Real oatmeal! No grits!!!!! :joyfull: :) :geek: :D :p   :inlove:

Woody and I were finished with breakfast when Em came down to join us. A few unfortunate events had filled her with frustration, so we offered her words of encouragement so her day wouldn't be ruined. We all agreed to have positive attitudes as we headed out for another Disney day.

The humidity was as thick as peanut butter. ("You mean pea soup." "You eat what you like and I'll eat what I like!") (Bonus points for anyone who gets the reference.) We walked to the TTC and boarded the Epcot monorail. Woody did not have a bag so he walked through the no-bags entrance, where everyone was being directed to go through the metal detectors. Em and I just had our bags inspected.

Our first FP (which I knew would be totally unnecessary) was for Figment.

(This picture is for @lostpro9het ~ there ARE other people in this area! :joyfull:)

Sing it with me, "Imagination, imagination...a dream can be a dream come true, with just that spark...for me and you!"

In the gift store, Em purchased some Jungle Book Tsum Tsums for her class.

Our FP window for Spaceship Earth was now open. The ride must have been down earlier, because this was the FP line: :jawdrop:

It was a good 20 minutes before we entered. We told the CM we were a party of 3, and he said, "Two in front, one in back." Woody and I climbed in front. Em made the critical error of sliding all the way over instead of sitting by the door. Suddenly, a very loud and large woman pushed her way into Em's car announcing, "I'm sitting with you!" She was not a solo traveler, but apparently did not want to sit with her children, whom she had been yelling at. It was incredibly awkward for Em, as there was nothing she could do about it. When it was time to create the video, Em simply told the woman: "You do it. I've done this many times before." The video ended up being the cartoon people anyway, since the photo at the ride beginning wasn't working.

While Em was happy to be free from the confines of 15 minutes next to an obnoxious stranger in a tiny car, she still needed some cheering up. Purchasing a ball cap with her fave Monsters University logo did the trick!

Leaving Future World, we turned left onto the World Showcase Promenade. We had a lunch ADR to make!

I know the San Angel Inn doesn't get a lot of love on these forums. But in the 30+ years of dining here, we have only had one bad meal and that was mainly a service issue. The atmosphere is so peaceful and unique. We were led to a prime table next to the water and enjoyed watching the boats float by.

(My iPhone pic doesn't do it justice.)

The chips arrived warm and crispy, and I LOVE the tomatillo salsa verde. I had to force myself to stop snacking!
Soon our entrees arrived.

Tacos de Vegetales (Em)

Enchiladas Verde con Pollo (Woody)

Pollo a las Rajas (I could eat this every day!)

Woody needed to return to the Poly for an afternoon teleconference and Em and I had one final FP to use, so we turned right out of Mexico and headed back to Future World.

image.jpeg

Just after Em took this shot, we noticed a family coming towards us in matching Mickey tie-dye shirts. It was @TheMouseFan and her family! We exchanged excited hellos (well Amy and I did...Woody asked Brian if he thought it was creepy that their wives knew so much about each other!) And @Doc Disney, we remembered to take a picture!

image.jpeg

Em and I bid goodbye to the @TheMouseFan gang and Woody and continued on our journey here ~

I hated that Woody had to miss a ride on Living With the Land (it's his favorite Epcot attraction.)

image.jpeg

But we did not use our FP on LWTL. I was able to score a FP for the digitally remastered Soarin' Over California. Glad we didn't have to wait standby!

image.jpeg

With 3 concourses now, we were surprised to see such a long standby wait. Turns out only 2 of the concourses were being utilized. We thought carpet in the queue was an interesting choice. We were sent into the new concourse C (straight ahead when you reach the merge point) which looks remarkably like A and B. The movie was clean, sharp and focused...what a difference the digital projection makes! We can't wait to see Soarin' Around the World (no YouTube cheating for us!)

The food there is very good but my family stopped going cause of a service issue as well... Once they totally forgot to bring my dads meal out and by the time we got our servers attention it was too late. Literally about 30 minutes, and my dad had told the rest of us to eat and not worry about him :banghead: jeez haha

You were in MK on my birthday! (June 5) Don't know if I'm jealous though, I am not a huge fan of venturing outside during the summer! I swear I could live in Alaska and be fine with it!
Happy belated birthday! I have spent a couple of my birthdays at the MK and had a blast! I am sure the heat wouldn't be any worse there on June 5 than it is in Mississippi! ;) :joyfull:

I'm jealous. We didn't get to ride in the new concourse.:( Brian thought it was silly that I was disappointed by that! I was also disappointed that both times we rode TSMM, we got directed to the old tracks.
We had the old track on TSMM too :bored:.
