How to post/upload pictures

Hi,

I have done my pre-trip report and tried to upload a picture to it but I am having problems, I really need to find out how to do this otherwise my trip report will be very boring!!!

So far all I can see to upload pictures is the icon on the message thread, looks like a postcard with a mountain on 'insert image', this asks for the URL of the image, I cannnot find this on my picture!


Sorry if there is already a thread, I could not find anything, if anyone has the link, please post.

Any advice on uploading?

You need to have you pictures on a site somewhere: picasa, flickr, etc. Once there, you can copy the link to the picture by right clicking on it. Once you come back here, you can click on the Insert Image button (looks like a little mountain, yellow background, and circle in the top right). Once that opens, paste the link you copied from your online picture.

Posting Pictures Primer

Any picture that you want to include in your post MUST be hosted somewhere on the internet (not merely a resident on your hard drive (unless you ARE a server.)) I generally use the WDWMagic Photo Albums or PhotoBucket.

You will need to get the URL address of the picture that you want to post.

The URL of the picture can be found by right clicking the picture and selecting properties. Copy it now, by highlighting and hitting Ctrl “C”.

You also will need to look at the bottom of the page to see if IMG is on or off.

The imaging code is turned [b]OFF[/b] in General Discussion and Tech Support and others.

I believe that it's [b]ON[/b] in News and Rumours, Trip Reports and Chit Chat and others.

Different forums have this turned [b]ON[/b] or [b]OFF[/b].

Look all the way down at [b]POSTING RULES[/b] in each forum to know if it's [b]ON[/b] or [b]OFF[/b].

Any member of any level can post photos in any forum that has [IMG] turned [b]ON[/b].

When you are posting a new thread or a reply to an existing thread, look for the little icon that looks like a mountain [img] http://forums.wdwmagic.com/images/editor/insertimage.gif
( - that will open up another window where you can post the URL of the photo that you want to post.)

Copy and paste the address (URL) from properties to the post.
(Since you’ve already copied it, hit Ctrl “V” to paste it in the popup window.)

Be sure to take out the extra http:// by hitting backspace that will be included in the pop-up window using this method.

How do you post more than one pic? Also, how do you put in comments between phots? I have only done one photo at a time. Sorry to "bump" this thread....

I did all that with no problem at all - but all I got was a little square with a red cross it :shrug: I am rubbish at technology, but it sounds so straightforward

Did the url you entered end in something like .gif or .jpg ?

If I want text between photos then I simply type text between the IMG tags:

Thank you for the step by step...I have been wondering how to post photos...especially from the wdwmagic photo album. I really want to post photos from our trip in August and have been hesitant cause I was clueless lol

photobucket does well as does your WDWMagic photo album
