I was digging through some of my older posts on here, and I was looking at some of my original posts. It's kind of fun to see the progression of how my posts and interactions and attitudes have evolved in the 11 years I've been a member here.

I'm curious to see everyone's first posts here. Mine, in April of 2015, was actually a thread and not just a comment, and it wasn't even anything park related-it was a question about value resort rooms.

Thread 'Best Standard Room In Value Resorts?'

Can anyone give me some advice on what would be the best standard room at the value resorts at WDW? Last March, my family and I (5 people) stayed in a family suite at Art Of Animation, Lion King. My wife, daughter and I are planning to go back next spring, but with only the 3 of us, we won't need the extra cost or space that comes with the family suite. We are probably staying for a week, and will not be spending much time at the resort itself. We loved the Art Of Animation resort but wold be willing to try Pop Century, All Star Music etc, if the standard rooms are a better deal. Thanks!

Same here, and I only have a little over 4,000 posts. However, I started posting over 20 years ago and I have no clear memory of what I posted back then. Hopefully it was not something idiotic like “What time is the 3 O’clock parade?”

I believe I started posting circa 2005 when DW and I brought our DS for his first visit. So it may have been a logistics question or possibly a trip report.

I don’t remember my post at that time, but I do remember the look on our 7 year old DS’ face when we walked into the Wilderness Lodge. His mouth was wide open, and his eyes were as big as saucers. He had the exact same look when we walked up Main Street the first time. I also remember the background music was “Put on your Sunday Clothes” from Hello Dolly, and late Wall-E.

That’s pretty good for an old boomer who has trouble remembering where he parked his car
half the time.

First post was about Dinoland and annoyance that Disney was neglecting it back in February 2022.

Should've dug this up during the repeated "actually people are just pretending to care because it's leaving" nonsense in the removal thread.

I don't know what the post was about but I know that it was probably some question about a trip I was planning to take with my parents and my sister & her husband in June of 2003. I also know that I was bored at parent/teacher conferences so I was just surfing the internet.

I believe my first post ever would be found back in September of 2008. Couldn't tell you what it pertained to but most likely it was inquiring about either the Coronado or Port Orleans Resorts as we were planning where to stay.

We're a short time away from our latest trip to Disney World. My wife and I will be taking our four children, who are ages 7, 5, 3, and 1. (However, the two youngest be about a month away from their birthdays when we go. So think 4 and 2 really.)

The last time we went, we only had 4 full days there, and so we focused on the four main parks only, and didn't even attempt to visit a water park. This time, we'll have 5 full days for the main parks, plus a sixth day which is actually a travel day but where we'll be there until about 5 pm. We don't have tickets to the main parks for that day, though, so we thought about a combination of Downtown Disney and one of the water parks.

So, here's my question: Which water park do we want to try? I know Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach both have kids' areas. But I've heard there are significant differences between them. Our oldest, a girl, tends to be a bit more timid. The younger ones, all boys, pretty much have no fear. :)

So what do you think? Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach?

I'm pretty sure mine was about the Yeti since it was through the yeti rabbit hole was how I found this forum. That was back in 2014... sweet Jesus

The Polynesian and Grand Floridian Resorts are timeless but 50 years from now, will people still care about the icons on Pop's facade or will they be wondering what a Rubix Cube is? I have a feeling this resort will be re-themed within 20 years as phase II of Art of Animation."

Maybe not within 20 years, but I stand by my theory it will be the first resort to get a complete re-theme (I'm not counting the DVC Resort to Old Key West as a re-theme).
