Yahoo! Inc. Chief Executive Officer Terry Semel said he would rather continue in his current job than become CEO of Walt Disney Co., the second-largest U.S. media company.

"I'm looking forward to at least the next bunch of years, I hope many, to continue doing what I'm doing," Semel said at a Morgan Stanley investors conference in Scottsdale, Ariz. "I enjoy being a builder."

Semel, 61, has been one of the top candidates to replace Disney CEO Michael Eisner, who is retiring. Semel was co-chief executive of Time Warner Inc.'s Warner Bros. film studio before joining Yahoo in 2001.

He spent more than 20 years at Warner Bros.

Shares of Yahoo, owner of the second-most-used Internet search engine, have tripled during Semel's tenure. They rose 73 cents to $36.92 on Monday on the Nasdaq.

Other candidates to replace Eisner include News Corp. President Peter Chernin and Disney President Robert Iger.

I'd pick Chernin over Iger any day...but I'm sure there are better people out there for the job...are there more names being tossed around?
