Yacht and Beach Club

It should not, as work is majorly being done inside the Beach Club rooms, floor by floor.

I stayed at Yacht Club during the Beach Club renovation, and from Stormalong Bay, my keen eye noticed that white tarps were taped tightly across all window interiors on the 5th floor. It certainly didn't ruin my Yacht Club vacation.

I'm trying to book a May of 2016 trip and want to do BC but I'm not sure the renovation will be done, so might switch to YC or Poly.

Then renovations should swing over to Yacht Club, floor by floor, correct?

I know Swan/Dolphin are remodeling rooms now.
And boy do they need it....I stayed there for the first time in 15-20 years and wow.... We had to change rooms bc of an issue with a neighbor and got an updated room..What a difference...

I just got back from our trip.

Swan refurbished rooms were ok. Nice update, but the rooms still seemed worn, very white (like a hospital room), and just mediocre at best. The remodeled bathrooms were top notch, however.

Toured several Beach Club refurb rooms. They are EXCELLENT! Beautiful, classy, fresh brand new bathrooms. Great looking bedroom area. Awesome curtains and drapes -- very different! Hallways were painted and a new color scheme and looked great. Club Lounge more than doubled in size and had was beautfully decorated. Lots of tile and everything was new. They were working on portions of the 4th floor now. Overall awesome.

Yacht Club won't be starting refurb for a couple more years. Rooms are dated, and I love YC.

BoardWalk Inn rooms will be finished in the next few months. Then go over to Villa side. Great new bathroom look, mirror sink area looked totally different. Rooms were not as drastically different as the change at Beach Club, but they did look very sharp. Hallways were repainted and new hallway carpet, not as whimsical as the old rollercoaster carnival style. Overall very very nice.

I'm trying to decide the same thing, I was really hoping for beach club, but don't know how it would impact my trip. I tried skimming the thread on the the refurb - too long for me tho.

What's the deal on the Stormalong Bay maintenance the website says is ongoing through Spring 2015, with parts of pool closed but other parts open. Looking at either booking YC for Spring break or buying points for a 1 bed at SSR. Works out about the same price. WE of course would prefer YC because of location but I don't like staying at a resort with a pool limitation .

By any chance do you know if the Villas at the BC have been part of the refurb as well?

By the end of August? ...or is that just wishful thinking?:(

The work is scheduled to start in March on BCV. When they did VWL last year it only took about 3 months to complete, but who knows if they will work that fast again. It's reasonable to assume that at least some of the rooms will be done by August if not all.

GoofGoof, you just made my family's day. Thank you for the info. Fingers crossed that the work crew has plenty of energy and determination to finish the project asap ;)
