Would you skip a Disney trip to go see the Winter Olimpics?

I might just do that. I can always save up to go to Disney World but I'm thinking I should try to go to the Winter Olimpics instead for 2014.

You MIGHT do it? When someone gets a chance to see the Olympics, they go. This shouldn't be a problem... You've been to Disney World, go see the Olympics.

Meh. The problem with professional sports is....there's no active participation. While I like baseball and football....if I'm not the one playing, I don't care one bit.

So if it were me, Id be going to Disney instead. I'd rather be DOING instead of WATCHING.

Absolutely without a doubt I would go to the Olympics even if it meant skipping WDW for a year. I am just about the biggest Disney nut anyone knows, but WDW will be there - the chance to go to they Olympics is once in a lifetime for most. The chance to go to a ticketed event is even rarer.

Plus it would be a great time to be in Eastern Europe. Russia will want to impress the world, so everyone will be on their best behavior.

Heck yes... I love Disney and all, I just don't understand people that save thousands of dollars to go all the time. I'd take the money and travel to another country... do different things.

Winter Olympics in Russia sounds like a once in a lifetime opportunity. Not sure what Sochi is like but it would be pretty cool to go. Just need to brush up on your Yakov Smirnoff jokes

Summer Olympics I would. Not so much the winter Olympics. The exception would be if I had a family member participating. Then I would have to go.

I have no interest in sports and to be honest I'd rather watch the events with coverage and all from the comfort of my local sports bar (shout out to Boxer's!) without all the crowds and hassle and weather just to see a couple events.

That's just me though. Some people love that kind of thing.

I would probably go to the Olympic site... but skip the Olympics. Russia would be much more interesting without all the pomp and fanfare.

I love watching the olympics but don't think I would fly out, get a hotel, and pay to see them live. If Chicago managed to get them I was planning to attend at least one event. But after the plan failed the prices came out. Over a grand for opening or clsing ceremonies. Several hundred per event. I'd rathor make memories with family.

I am a huge fan of the Winter Olympics, have been since I was a kid. But I wouldn't want to go. Sorry but in all the big events I have been to they are never better than watching them at home on a big screen in comfort. If you were a huge figure skating fan then you might enjoy that event, but a lot of the ski events would be pointless... You would pick a spot where you could see a downhill run for all of 5 seconds as the skier zipped by and then listen for the final time over a speaker. Sorry but unless you are a party animal that doesn't really like the events there is no reason to go to major sporting events the only reason to be there live is for the parties not the event.

I would probably go to the Summer Olympics,but not the Winter. I do like the Winter Olympics,but I hate the cold so I would much rather watch them on tv in my warm home.
