Wow! EXCELLENT video!!! Thanks for sharing it!

If you haven't noticed at the parks, the CRANIUM COMMAND/General Knowledge/"Also Inside. . ." side at the right-side entrance to the pavilion has been removed.

It appears that lights are on inside much of the day, with the SENSORY FUNHOUSE sign revolving. . .

But! The pavilion hasn't been open since May, and it was closed during FOURTH OF JULY HOLIDAY. I mean, I just don't get it. Cranium Command is a guest favorite, and even in April - twice when I went - it had wonderful attendance. Yet on one of the most crowded WDW days, it's closed with the power potentially still on?

Can you say. . . Convention space? That's just a thought.

Anyway. . . if you're a WOL fan or have never seen it before, here is an encore performance of the Tribute Video: Wonders of Life Tribute Video -click here to launch

For so long Body Wars was still considered such a big time ride and now it sits motionless. Hopefully the whole area will re-open and people will be able to experience this "odd" attraction LOL.

the last song is called Beyond the Waterfall. It's one of the more popular back ground songs in Future World (along with "On the wings of a Butterfly")

And Grizz, I wanted to say good video, but you left out a close up on what I thought was the greatest hidden mickey ever. It was in the green "brains" to the left of the body wars sign. I'll have to see if i have a pic of it somewhere

I've never gotten in that pavilian. We go off season and it is always closed. I don't understand why they don't open certain things AND shorten the hours in off season. Seems like one or the other would do...

Grizz, the video was beautiful. It made me so sad! I can remember running with my parents from the park entrance to Wonders of Life as a child...back when Body Wars was a huge thrill and the pavillion meant hours of fun. WoL was the first place I wanted to go when we arrived at Epcot, and I wanted to spend my entire day there. Cranium Command is my mom's favorite Epcot attraction, and it's always been one of mine too. I challenge anyone to see the show and not laugh at the hilarious one-liners and situations. And the Wonder Cycles? Who wouldn't love to ride a bicycle through a Disney park, passing all the attractions and seeing all the people? I can even remember having to wait in line just to ride one.

Seeing the video reminded me of how much there is/was to Wonders of Life...so many attractions housed in such a small space, so many fun things to do and see all under one roof. Such a shame that it's been closed.

Oh, and Grizz, if you ever manage to get that Cranium Command video, mark down another who'd love to see it. Funniest show at Disney in my opinion. :D

I have never been on Cranium Command.

Personally, I like Body Wars A Lot!

Now wouldn't it be cool to turn the WOL pavillion into a weather Pavillion and add that Storm ride (Storm Racer I believe it is called) It's over at Disneyland Paris. And "Storm Racer" would take the Body Wars spot and then add some other cool Weather things in the Pavillion.

Just a thought,

Thanks, Grizz, for another amazing tribute and a call to arms. The video is fantastic! I love the music and I'm glad you looked up and captured the mobiles and ceiling. It is all very classy and moving.
I hope it's not too late for Wonders of Life, but if it is, then we must do what we can to save The Land! I will write my letter to GR (about how my family went to WDW after my father-in-law passed away and we received peace and healing when we heard his favorite song, "You Are My Sunshine" playing while we stood next to the fountain in The Land). I'll post the response if/when I receive one from GR.

The Land is my 3rd favorite Pavillion. It better not go anywhere!

My fav. Pavillions are:

1.) Spaceship Earth (It says it's a Pavillion on the guidemap)

2.) Imagination Pavillion (HISTA and Figment)

3.) The Land (Living with the land, circle of life, giant food court, and Coming Soon SOARIN')

On a side note... I got a message from WDW on my answering machine today saying that someone would be getting in touch with me about a letter I sent. I wrote to Guest Relations and Eisner about keeping the Carousel of Progress open year round. (As I mentioned over in the 'Grizz will roar' thread.) I don't know how much good it will do, but if they keep getting letters about it, it might help. Power to the people!
You gotta let us know what that was about, now I'm curious.

Nice video work, Grizz. I think the last time I went there to the WoL pavillion was back in 1993 or so. I don't think I ever made it on to the Cranium Command and the one time I rode Body Wars, I found it urpy.

I think it was a good idea, though it's oddly located. It's easy to overlook. Add to that the fact that people didn't really think of it as a "ride" and so might not have headed that way. Though I recall when the newest, biggest and best ride being advertised for Epcot for awhile was Body Wars, that was quickly eclipsed and I think brushed aside.

Anyway, it's sad how many things seem to be changing at Epcot and not always for the better.

ps: Got a chuckle that someone else has heard of Ray Lynch's Deep Breakfast album there in the beginning. :animwink:

10 to 1 if WDC hadn't gone cheap on Body Wars and made it into a motion simulator and instead made it some kind of a hybrid dark ride / coaster along the same lines as Body Wars that pavilion would still be the most popular in Epcot. Great idea for a ride, ruined by lame motion simulation technology.

The lights have to stay on for the plants inside. There is a pretty nice indoor landscape inside the pavillion (in case you hadn't noticed!) and the light throught the skylights would not be enough to keep them alive. Also pretty expensive to replace them all. So, lights stay on....maybe a sign that it might not be a lost pavillion after all????

Think of the plants! Can't somebody think of the plants!!

No excuse for keeping the pavillion closed up or for the loss of CC (which would be a tragedy if it were true!), tho.

Think of the plants, but also think of the guests. ;)

Wonders of Life was my FAVORITE at Epcot. I mean, nothing compares to an hour in Wonders of Life. You could spend a day there! I am very ed that when I went in April and it was open, my loser friend didn't wanna do Cranium Command. Excuse me while I got punch him out.

Nah j/k, but he really didn't want to do it. Ugh!! I did Body Wars at age 7. I obviously was not too keen with it. I got sick. But, it wasn't too bad. Never saw the Making of Me.

If this is the end, I will definately miss the show along with the WOL pavilion. So that makes the list of missed EPCOT attractions:

Horizons, World of Motion, Original Imagination, Wonders of Life? :(

Its not that WDI went on the cheap (atleast that im not aware of ) its because the full-scale mechanical efforts to open and close a 30-foot heart valve and inflate and deflate 8-foot alveoli simply didnt work. The idea to use motion simulator technology proved effective when Star Tours opened in 1986 at Disneyland, thus the human body attraction, dubbed Body Wars, was put back in development. So Body Wars opened on I believe October 19th,1989 with the rest of the pavilion.

And as for WOL closing it is very sad. We may loose another EPCOT Center attraction for a simple one minute thrill with a 90 minute wait. Something very un-EPCOT Center. It'll be missed, especially CC but like Grizz said in his video, "In any case whatsoever, We will not forget The Wonders of Life."

Here is a thought, i'm guessing this sign was out side, well maybe it either got damaged and therefore removed due to the hurricanes or one of the hurricanes them selves pulled it down.

It's just a thought though
