Sorry, you are right. it did start on Friday. As for last Saturday what was missing? Sometimes we have to cut some of the rooftop stuff due to wind. I know on this past Fri & Sat we had cut some rooftop stuff due to wind. This may have been the case on the Sat before that as well.

Saturday (a week ago) along with this last Friday the shells that go off from the roof-tops (above the castle) right prior to the end ( the "make a wish" moment) did not go off.

Those do not fire when I saw the show on Monday the 12th either.

Yes those are usually cut due to wind.

It sounds like the fireworks go from China to CA to Orlanda and then for DL they go back to CA. Why not store DL fireworks at DL and then send WDW's to Orlando? I would think that would save money.
Because Disneyland does not have the space to pack and store the fireworks. Fireworks shells once recieved from China come in bulk. When they arrive in Orlando, they are broken down into individual shows. Shows are assemble from many vendors worldwide. The individual shows are then packed back up and sent to CA. It is way cheaper for Disney to do it here in Orlando. They have the room, the facilities and the staffing. Disneyland has none of this.

Thanks Boo for the great information and answers.

You mentioned that Disney receives the shells from China, then distributes them out for the shows. I had read, here I think, that Disney receives raw materials and builds some of their own shells. Is that true? If so, do they design and build shells that will only be seen on Disney property?

One question Boo.....I have seen the show around 25-30 times, and never seen the "face" shell explode properly ...the best I saw, to where I could tell it was a face, was when it was upside-down. Is there any way to get a more consistant correct explosion, or is this thought of as a non-issue?

Eric Tucker the designer has worked extensivly with the manufacter to make it work, but it's really hit or miss. They are still working on it. But don't hold your breath. The way they are made and the velocity and the spinning as they are rising make it very complicated to break correctly. It does seem like that when it does break properly it is upside down.

It would be a cool effect when it would work. Maybe doing something like how the hearts are done at the end of the B&tB segment, but all at once, would at least give a better opportunity of at least 1 face breaking correctly.

Thanks for all of the great info.

I was at the Magic Kingdom Friday night, and did see Wishes, and noticed that it did look a bit "Lite" to me.

Also, Tinker Bell did NOT fly... :veryconfu

Well.. I've been speaking with a source in WDW right now, and he's informed me that the version of Wishes currently being shown is "Wishes Lite."
So after "Bud LITE", there's a "Wishes LITE"??

(Sigh!) Isn't there anything with FULL flavor these days???

Tink flew this last Friday, her wings were red, which was strange.

Yeah, I too had wondered why it wasn't designed in to have more into it to give at least one of them a chance. Maybe it's because she says "face". Or maybe cost. The face shell is bigger in size and more complexed to build than say the heart shells.

If anyone would like to see the true genius of Eric Tuckers designs, below are 2 links to a show he does every May in San Francisco. These shows are unbelievable. You will notice lot of similarities in the San Francisco shows as you do in Wishes and ROE. Eric uses shells that are signature to him. Tell me what you think. I am sure we will see more of this stuff when Disneyland new 50th show starts. For last I heard Steven Davidson had hired Eric to do the fireworks design for that show as well. Eric just competed this past Saturday night in Montreal at the Montreal International Fireworks Competition where he was hired to design a show for Sunny fireworks of China. Sunny supplies about 60% of the Wishes shells.

Yes they store all the parks in one location, Disneyland included. The shows that are on property are taken out of the facility one show at a time. Disneyland gets sent about 30 shows at a time. For security reasons of my job I can not specify where the storage facility is. But it is somewhere on property.
Odd. I thought that I had heard somewhere that they were stored at a secure facility at OIA, and were taken to the resort one day's worth at a time.

Of course, you're the expert, so I shouldn't question.
