Well.. I've been speaking with a source in WDW right now, and he's informed me that the version of Wishes currently being shown is "Wishes Lite." Apparently, they're running out of stock on some of the materials and have had to cut parts out for the time being.

I'm mkt. You stay classy, WDWMagic.

"Running out of stock"?
What do you mean, they're running out? Did they forget they were going to have to put on a show every night during the summer when they made their orders?
Ugh... bad scene. Good thing I haven't actually seen Wishes since December, ( guess...

(sigh)

There was a shipping problem on the Chinese side that was beyond Disney's control. Disney can only order maybe two months worth of stuff at a time because the ATF has strict regulations as to how much they can store. If you figure that they store Wishes, ROE, Disneyland, and all the stage stuff, thats alot.

Hm...

You'd like to see there be some kind of contingency plan in case something like this happens. Oh well. So, how light are we talking about here? Are there any serious show elements missing?

Well there are 3 blue stars instead of 5. The Genie Blue Flash Shell is 1 instead of 2 so it looks smaller. There are only 3 hearts instead of 5. There are more, but explaining them would be imposible to give in laiments (sp?) terms.

Well, that's not too bad, I suppose. As long as the huge shell near the end of the show -- the big one that looks like a weeping willow of pixie dust -- is still there. I love that part.

locations

When you say they can only have so much stored in one place.............don't they store Disneyland and Disney World Fireworks in their own respective locations or do they have one central hub that they store them in and then pull from it and ship to each park as needed?

If they store in one central spot, where is it?

Well, as least it's almost all in tack. I haven't seen it yet, so at least it's not missing a huge chunk! So basically the entire show is still in one piece, it's just a few less effects? I can't wait...3 weeks! :sohappy:

Does this have anything to do with why Tinkerbell didn't "fly" a few weeks ago?
That could have been caused by weather. I don't see how a shortage of fireworks would keep Tink from flying.

I hope it's back to normal by middle of Sept.

I second that :( I have heard such great things about Wishes I am very excited to finally see it in a couple months. Now I find out that it won't be as awesome as it should be. What a bummer. Anyone know if this is a permanent change?

Yes they store all the parks in one location, Disneyland included. The shows that are on property are taken out of the facility one show at a time. Disneyland gets sent about 30 shows at a time. For security reasons of my job I can not specify where the storage facility is. But it is somewhere on property.

What's the ETA to have the show(s) back to normal?
We are hoping within 30 days. It takes awhile to go from China to California and California to here.

Yeah they are still in, just thinned a little. This part is the least noticible of the stuff cut.

Had nothing to do with Tink. Tink will always be down if there is visible lightning, heavy rain or high winds.

I noticed the last few weeks that some shells (like the blue stars) have been missing in some parts....I figured since the show uses so many custom shells, that this was the case.

It has only been since Saturday that the show was lightened.

Sorry, you are right. it did start on Friday. As for last Saturday what was missing? Sometimes we have to cut some of the rooftop stuff due to wind. I know on this past Fri & Sat we had cut some rooftop stuff due to wind. This may have been the case on the Sat before that as well.

It sounds like the fireworks go from China to CA to Orlanda and then for DL they go back to CA. Why not store DL fireworks at DL and then send WDW's to Orlando? I would think that would save money.

I am going to DL in a couple weeks. Does this mean DL's fireowrks are going to be cut too?
