Illuminations:RoE hands down, although I will say Wishes always makes me tear up as well for some reason. Fantasmic on the other hand, not impressed.

My favorite nighttime spectacle is watching everyone push and shove to get in the monorail when the park closes. Sitting on a bench and people watching that for a little bit is worth every penny.

Don't forget the now forever dead Spectromagic, also the Main St. Electrical Parade, the Frozen Fireworks, the Electrical Water Pageant... They could be on this list as well.

You obviously haven't seen the Disneyland version. ;) It makes the WDW version look like Summer Stock theater.

Wishes, hands down, is my vote.
Both are amazing. But I prefer the World version over wishes and illuminations. Also Wdw has a few things better the DL for example:
Seating
More villains
An a Full Stage

Not to Knock the Land they have:
The Dragon
Less use of mist screen
The Peter Pan Scene>Pocahontas
HD Screens

In my opinion both are great shows and the world would be much better if they just combined the best of both!

We'll agree to disagree, but for the same reasons.

The fact that the WDW version isn't plopped into existing infrastructure is why it should be vastly superior and more entertaining, but in my experience it is not.

It's real tough, as they each have their plusses.
I consider Fantasmic something different, as it's a separate show with seating - so I kind of exclude it from my mind in this type of discussion.
Illuminations is more adult.
It's also a great way to end ones night when staying in Beach Club, and then walk back to the hotel.

I consider Wishes to have more of a wow factor though, and it's one I tell others who have never visited WDW to make sure to catch.
The plusses on Wishes:
Well, it takes place at the Castle, the icon of WDW.
The projections are fantastic, and the first time I saw Tinkerbell a couple of seasons ago and realized she was a real person - I was shocked!

Wishes all the way for me. But MK is also my favorite park, so it only makes sense they will have my favorite show. Especially Christmas Wishes, now that's pretty great. The music is also great for both the normal and holiday versions of the show.

Fantasmic is pretty cool, especially if you sit in the front row and it has a lot of great moments.

Illuminations seems to be lacking something. There are too many moments when it's becomes a little boring. I like the message and again, the music, great (really, all 3 shows have great music).

So Wishes is the best for me and it is a tie between Fantasmic and Illuminations.
