Wishes Dessert Party; is it worth it?

I'm going to WDW december 10-16 with my whole family for my little sister's birthday. We go every year around this time for it and this year I wanted to do something special for her. She's been bugging my parents about the dessert party for years. And I'm thinking of surprising her with it. But I need some opinions before I spend money on it. Is it honestly worth it? I'm torn right now, HELP!

How much is it again? We got priority "Wishes" viewing this year, just to the left of he dessert area, and we took our Casey's dogs & fries & coke to our table and had a ball, tho our faces were covered in slaw & mustard.:)

We've done this twice, and loved it on both occasions :) the desserts are scrummy, and it's worth the money just for Tinkerbell's flyover, since you're directly underneath her! Also, it rained torrentially the first year we did it, and it was a nice covered area to watch the fireworks from :p
The best bit, for me, is being able to stay and finish your desserts while everyone else stampedes for the exits; a relaxing end to a hectic day :)

I've seen good responses to threads about it - so much I'm thinking of trying to get ressies for it for next June. The key word is 'try' - high demand but low seating availability.

The desserts look really good, but IMO, they didn't taste very good. I really didn't care for them at all. Having skipped dinner due to my Pig Out Plan, I left disappointed and hungry.

But it isn't expensive and it does have a decent view you don't have to fight for very hard, lol.

If you want to try it, you should. See for yourself. Make up your own mind. :)

Remember that if weather conditions don't allow it, Tinkerbell will not fly. Don't want to have little sis disappointed!

I'm not a dessert guy, but I love the party. We have done it four times and have it planned for the Christmas party on the Sunday after thanksgiving Its a great view without the crowd

The desserts are delicious! But even big eaters cannot eat enough to allow the food alone to justify the cost. The real draw is having a perfect view of the fireworks without the hassle of crowds and everything that comes with that. Relaxing and having coffee or hot chocolate (and yet more desserts LOL) while the mass exodus occurs all around you is ... priceless. :)

Thanks guys, I'm just afraid of wasting my money on something we both wont enjoy, and it's her sweet 16 so I wanted something special and since she's been begging for years now I thought of it, but I'm still deciding...

It is definitely enjoyable! Is it worth the money? As with many things at WDW, that is subjective. But, it's her Sweet 16 and she wants to do it and she will have fun so I say go for it if you can afford it.

Done it before. Will do it again. Take desserts out of the picture and the price is worth it just to not fight to watch the fireworks.

My answer to the question...

YESSSSSSS!!!

We will never miss doing this again! After one experience it has officially became something we will make a tradition. Not having to stand (or if you're lucky sit on a curb) squished in with hundreds of people is wonderful by itself but couple that with incredible desserts and an amazing view of Tink as she "flies" down... just so great! Does it cost money? Yup! Is it worth the price? As others have said that's subjective. For us... the answer is a resounding yes!

the fact that it's her sweet 16 and it's been something she wants i would do it. i have a feeling if she's been asking for it for that long it would be a bigger disappointment for her not to do it. my mom always said it didn't matter how many things you got someone for christmas that they'd be disappointed if they didn't get that "one thing" they really wanted. i think the same applies here.

We just did it in early September for the first time and it was AWESOME!!!! We had a front table so we could see the fireworks perfectly as well as tinkerbell. The desserts were fantastic. It was definitley worth the $$. I think for her Sweet 16 it is worth it! She will LOVE it!

true, haha. And she never really gets a lot for her birthday since it's close to Christmas. I'll do this big thing for her, but it's gonna be a surprise :)

We are doing it in November. I am doing it more so I don't have to deal with the crowds. It would be so ideal if we could get a FP for preferred viewing for MSEP and then just pop into the Dessert Party once we're ready. I know we'd miss out a bit- but anything to not deal with the chaos. :)

I'd book it, and if you decide later (up to 24 hrs. Prior), you could always cancel. With that said, book it as soon as the dates become available, if they're not already (FYI: full payment is required at time of booking). Someone on this site suggested going on a night when there's evening extra magic hours, because there will be less of a stampede for the exit after the fireworks. Also from what I understand, the desserts remain available up to 30 min. after the fireworks end and that you should plan to arrive at the check-in counter no more than 10 min. prior to your reservation (so you're not just standing around waiting to get in).

I booked our first DessertParty for our upcoming trip and am really looking forward to it! I'll have my own review of it in my TR!
