Will Hong Kong ever get a 2nd gate?

I think it would be cool if they did a DisneySea style park or the cancelled "Disney's Enchanted Forest". Shanghai will most likely get one before Hong Kong.

Not any time soon. Wish they would, with a second gate and some fleshing out of the resort and castle park I'd book two week on-site stays here.

Disney went in too modest, there should've been a Tokyo / DLP / Anaheim sized resort here by now, twenty years after opening.

This location wasn't asking for a half-day dowsized park visited as an excursion from HK, but for a full size year-round resort to serve the entire delta (almost as large as Japan) and Chinese market.

yes, I agree, and if they can't do a 2nd gate for whatever reason then a water park would be cool and with the whether there.

My pitch for HK's second park would be create a disney cruise ship hub here with shopping, a water park, and a hotel where cruise ships can dock and enjoy a day or two at the park then sail off to areas like China, Macau, Thailand, Singapore, etc. With it acting like a weird mix of disney springs, typhoon lagoon, and a cruise ship harbor

I like that idea, especially a new water park.

Attendance needs to consistently hit 10+ million I’d wager. The resort seems to be able to achieve profitability around 6.5-7. A second gate would be built for a resort that could obtainably reach 15M gate clicks and slowly rise to upper teens/20.

Hong Kong is such a beautiful resort. I would love to see it built out properly with a second park, retail area and more hotels. The location is really nice and the location by the airport is perfect for a,layover or short break. So much wasted prominence

The resort will be fine as long as they continue to buildout the park. They should have an idea on what to do with the southwest plot by the time the avengers tower opens. Expansions have only proven to help the park's attendance.

I'm all in for the site being used for affordable/transitional housing and I hope it eventually becomes that.

I agree and would actually argue building this atop of housing/apartments in general would be a significant help to the resort in that it would be the only place besides maybe the USA parks where you are living walking distance to disney. in addition I would argue building housing and maybe a water park and cruise ship hub would significantly grow the resort way more and make it more consistent in attendance then a second park.

plus I want them to figure out the marvel Tomorrowland area before any second park as I still fail to understand if the marvel land is part of Tomorrowland or is called avengers campus, or stark expo, or sm else, or what it will be once the droptower opens. also some armchair imagineering is make space mt either GOTG if they just want it to be marvel or if u want tommorrowland separate make space mt either buzz, bighero6, or even walle. I say this as while I love Space MT HK's version specifically is prob the worst and while I don't want it to be torn down, having a weird unique version I think would help the park

It’s a horrible place for housing. There isn’t infrastructure to support it. People will be multiple metro lines away from basic amenities like a grocery store or pharmacy.

Then everyone gets evicted when they want to build a theme park? How is that socially responsible in any format?

Obviously this is a counselor making noise and not anything meaningful.
