Someone made this in the game Planet Coaster and obviously Disney or Universal wouldn't be able to make something this grand of a scale, but I think the idea would be fantastic. I wonder why they haven't tried something like this.

Between ETAE and TMR, Alien was (more or less) "well represented." Both are long gone at this point... And will likely never return.

Though it'd make a pretty neat effect in the space restaurant... Having an alien explode out of someone's stomach. 😛

If they follow Chipotle's food handling procedures, that might actually be a possibility.;)

Alien Encounter was fabulous. It was an attraction that brought enough of a thrilled and chill that set it apart from all the other kid attractions. Its too bad Disney didnt implement a teen/adult only criteria when it started to be complained about because parents brought in children who were too young to handle the scare.
But no... youll never see Disney return to this type of an attraction again because they fear the complaints that it would surely bring.

Eisner tried to, but the plan was shut down, and we got two attractions out of it: Alien Encounter and Space Ranger Spin.
Eisner's plan was a slow-moving ride through called "Nostromo", where you would board a Colonial Marines omnimover and go through the bowels of the ship Nostromo looking for survivors, while blasting aliens along the way. (concept later recycled for Space Ranger Spin)

It eventually involved into a theater show where Weyland Yutani, the company from the Alien movies, decided that it wanted to capture an alien by using the audience as bait and teleporting it into the room with us. The alien breaks the glass, it's acid blood shorts out the machine and it escapes.

Naturally, Imagineering was horrified, so they sought out help to deal with Eisner....from the guy they were working with at the time: George Lucas.

Naturally knowing the movie business as he did, they figured they had an ally, so they told him their concerns. Lucas promised he'd talk to Eisner about it....and a few days later Eisner said he had an even BETTER idea than "Nostromo"....they would make an all-original attraction!

And thus, Alien Encounter was born.

The Great Movie Ride was 10 times more frightening than Alien Encounter. A Nostromo dark ride would have been epic.
