I'm goin to have to agree with ya there...I'm over here at disneyworld and I have only seen one instance of kingdom hearts. At last years Mickey's halloween party they had actual full size characters of Sora, Goofy, and Donald dressed up. Other than that I have seen nothing, not even a pin!

Because Kingdom Hearts is the property of SquareEnix, not Disney. It would be up to SquareEnix if a ride or attraction would be viable, which I doubt it would be. And after the failure of their only movie, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, I doubt they have any plans besides video games.

If you went out and asked 20 people on the street what Kingdom Hearts was, I bet 19 of them wouldn't have a clue what you're talking about.

The sequel is coming out soon though...:lookaroun

I thought the game was a joint venture between Disney and SquareEnix....

IIRC, there is one on the GBA as well :)

I wouldn't be so sure about that... It has grown in popularity considerably.

When it was first released, it was written off as a "kiddy" game by most people (after all, you do play with disney characters, visit Pooh in the 100 Acre Woods, etc.) But once it came out, and word started to spread, it has (and still is) gaining a high amount of popularity. Especially with it's sequel (semi-sequel, that is), Chain of Memories on the GBA. Kingdom Hearts has a deep plot, and more adult themes then some would think.

Disney owns creative rights to Kingdom hearts and characters, and I beleive they own any movie / tv rights if something were to be made. They also had significant creative control over the first game.

As for a Kingdom Hearts II ride... honestly, I don't think it would work. The content (especially what is rumoured for the second game) is too dark and complex, not enough people are aware of the game, but most importantly it isn't a Disney movie... Yet. It is a Square-Enix game. It wouldn't fit in.

But if they make a land of villians............ it would be a great ride there.........

I do think they should have a kiosk, playable stations, and merchandising in Innoventions, though. That is where a video game belongs.

True...or they could replace the GMR over at the Studios and put a ride based off the game since it visits "lands" from different Disney movies. :)

i don't have a PS2 (i'm an Xbox kinda guy) but i have several non-Disney friends who've played Kingdom Hearts and they all loved it. i never actually played it, but watched a few cutscenes. i think the reason why you won't see much KH in the parks is because it would be redundant. The game fulfills the same role that the parks do, they bring the worlds of Disney's animation to interactive life. KH is almost a virtual theme park on a disc (albeit one with RPG combat)

a question for musty or any other fans of the game, are any of the environments taken from the parks at all? i know that KH2 will include Jack Sparrow and PotC, but are there any game areas that are strictly recreations of WDW or DL locales?

Unfortunatly no. But it would be pretty cool.

I'd be part of that 19. Never heard of it.

If you check the United States Patent and Trademark office you will find that Disney owns the rights to Kingdom Hearts. Not only for video games, but also for merchandise based on it as well.

I don't think you'll ever see a ride based on KH, too many people truly don't know anything about it.

I have seen the playable game in EPCOT, don't shoot me but I cna't remember the name of the area. I believe it might be Innovations, but there were a few other Disney games there as well, like Nemo, that was back in May.
