Yeah for Flag Day, and Yeah for John's Birthday...

But I asked specifically in regards to Disneyland.

Coming up on all these various major anniversaries for landmark attractions really puts into perspective how quickly and dramatically the park changed in its early years. The park's 60th anniversary wasn't so long ago, and now we're already hitting the 60th anniversary of the park's first major expansion (and one that revolutionized the amusement park industry) when it really hit its stride and gained so many iconic elements of how we've thought of Disneyland for generations

We're also approaching the 50th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion this summer, and it doesn't feel like the park's 50th was all that long ago. Most of the park's opening day attractions are pretty crude by modern standards, but Mansion and Pirates are widely considered to be the pinnacle of Disney's parks, and were built less than 15 years later. The massive advances in technology, placemaking, and storytelling in those few years is mind-blowing in comparison to the rate of change we see today (not to mention the number of attractions that were quickly added and removed during those early years).

Sure, we've seen some incremental changes and refinement to existing technologies since 2005, but none of that compares to the quantum leap from Canal Boats of the World and Dumbo to the Submarine Voyage to the Enchanted Tiki Room to Carousel of Progress to Pirates of the Caribbean to the Haunted Mansion. Disneyland wasn't just rising to meet people's expectations, it was blowing them away with things they never knew they wanted.

They had a nice photo op behind the Matterhorn where you can pose in front of a giant E ticket with the three attraction names on it and hold posters.

Well, today is THE day... 60 Years of creating Fun.

Here is to Walt and the Old Men for creating and building some amazing attractions, all holding some type of first!!!

Man, whatever they do with the new TL and FL they better keep the lagoon with the monorail gliding over it. Even if they get rid of it going through Fantasyland.
