Why hasn't Disney raised it's parking fee to $16?

Then we run into the multiple bills issue. If you still feel guilty with $50, then we'd have to raise it to $100.
Then that would be the same as theme park admission and that wouldn't be right, I guess they have to raise those prices as well so I don't feel like I'm ripping them off.

You should never be embarrassed on this forum, as it is sometimes hard to discern between serious and insane. I am familiar with some of the people posting, and I can assure you that the ongoing intention is purely for the sake of comedic sarcasm. I realize that it started serious, and I hate to spoil the joke, but I didn't want it to be at your expense.
Ah come on man we could've kept this going on for many more pages. :)

I can't believe so many people want to see parking costs raised. After all the grief Disney gets because a bottle is water is $2.50 and a gourmet apple $10 and tickets nearly $100 people want to see parking increased to $20 or match Universal at $16? Isn't $15 already ridiculously expensive? Don't worry I'm sure they'll raise prices soon enough. Personally I think they should cut the price to $10 or free and lower the one day ticket to $50 like sea world is doing (albeit only for a limited time and on weekdays). Disney should at least be trying to give the impression of being affordable - I know their food and beverage are the cheapest out of the 3 resorts but that's hardly an effort and most people don't realize it anyway. $15 and especially more than $15 is absurd for parking lots that only fill up a handful of times a year for a destination that already costs $100 to get in. It's like the $400 a night hotels that insist you pay an additional $30 a day for valet parking.

And to the people rooting for parking fees at DTD...are you crazy? Maybe it's cause I'm a local, but I don't fancy paying $15 just so I can go spend money. Even from a business perspective it doesn't make sense to restrict the number of people that are willing to shop at your establishment. You're only cutting potential revenue- and lowering the public's opinion of you. The only time paying for parking at DTD would make sense is right now in the evenings when parking is clearly scarce and there is a reason to try and prod guests who can to come via bus or boat. Once the garages are built, this shouldn't be an issue.
Yes, we were joking.

I am local, too, and wouldn't pay Disney for the privilege of shopping in DTD, lol.

Disney is always saying they do stupid things and raise prices because their customers DEMANDED it, lol. Well, now we have. Maybe we should get picket signs and stomp around the DHS parking area, demanding they raise the parking fees!

"What do we want?" HIGHER FEES!
"When do we want them?" NOW!

Guest demand. :)

This reminds me of when we have local craft shows in our area. You have to pay to get in the show. What do the shows consist of? Booths in which you can shop, and food stands in which you can purchase meals. It's basically like paying to enter a shopping mall. lol
The sad part is people fall for it. o_O

I have paid for craft shows before.

But I wouldn't pay for DTD. Not with the Millenia and Florida malls nearby and amazon a click away.

Disney has merchandise events where people buy tickets specifically so they can buy stuff.

$15 a day to let your car sit in a parking lot is highway robbery. I wouldn't want another dollar charged, but yes good obsevation. Maybe Disney thinks they have competitive parking fees. :p
Seriously, you do need to get out more. $15.00 for up to 14+ hours of parking for an entertainment venue is beyond reasonable. This is 2013. The days of $1.00 parking are long in the past. They think they have competitive parking fees because they absolutely do.

You seriously think that $15 dollars a day for parking is reasonable? If you wanted to visit all four theme parks that would cost you $60. That is just for parking, nothing else. It is highway robbery.

If you visited all 4 in 1 day it would only cost you $15.

If you visited each park on a separate day then it's $60.
OK, then stay in a Disney resort and pay no parking fees at all. Of course, it will cost you, per day, about $100.00 to $400.00 more to stay in a Disney resort then offsite. So I guess, all of a sudden $15.00 per day should start to sound pretty reasonable.

I went to Busch Gardens (Virginia) two hours before closing. They charged full parking price for two hours.

I almost laughed when the attendant told me it was $15.00 ( If I recall correctly).
