Why dont you guys like Indian Jones Stunt Show?

for a show that's been around since the opening...it's still a show that packs in the crowds...and for GOOD reason...

Seeing the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular (hehe ok so the name's a little long) truly makes me feel like: "Ah...now I'm in MGM"

*queue up Indy music*

Ok...now I'm gonna go run away from this perfectly symmetrical boulder that is chasing me

I don't really like the show because it is so loud! I hate loud noises. I've seen on line videos of it, and it looks like a pretty old show. You don't want the guests to think, 'Every year, it's the same old show. Next year, we go to Universal Studios.'

It's getting old. They need to put a new show in there or change it around. I'm not saying it's a bad show because it is a very good show, but I've just seen it too many times that I skip it now.

I agree

I agree completely. It's a great show, I just have no desire to see it on my next trip because I know exactly what it is. With many rides, even though you know what it is, and it's the same, you're more involved to keep in interesting (Haunted Mansion and stuff like that, you're actually in it).

I think they could keep the name the same and keep the same actors and same theme. There are many Indy movies. I say every so often, recreate a different set of scenes from the Indy movies and do the same thing.

I think Disney could do a good job of keeping fresh things by changing live shows more often to make it to where ever so may years you can expect to see something you didn't last time.

I don't think its that people don't like the show, I think its just getting a little old. Its been around since MGM opened without changing. Because many of us are repeat customers, its can get a little boring seem the same show over and over and over. The excitement is gone a little because you know everything that is going to happen and when it is going to happen. I say definitely keep the stunt show, but change the storyline to make it new and exciting for everyone.

I COMPLETELY AGREE- I LOVE THE SHOW- I MEAN LOVE IT, I THINK IT'S EASILYBY FAR THE BEST STUNT SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN ANYWHERE, HOWEVER IT IS GETTING OLD, AND I HAVE FOUND MYSELF SKIPPING IT UNLESS WE'RE WITH FIRST-TIME GUESTS AND IN THAT CASE I ENJOY SHOWING TO THEM.

BUT ANYWAY, LIKE SOMEONE MENTIONED EARLIER, KEEP THE OVERALL SHOW/ACTORS THE SAME, BUT JUST CREATE NEW SCENES EVERY FEW YEARS, SWITCH IT UP NOW AND THEN, YA KNOW?

Right... the show is old... it needs to be redone...hopefully they will do that when Indy 4 comes out... but for some reason I doubt it.

That show just gets old after the 1st or 2nd time.. well it did for me at least :)

Heading for the great escape.
Perhaps its the mechanical nature of the stunts performed that detract from the true stunt excitement. It seems to revolve around computer programmed thrills rather that true stunt feats.

Im not saying that the stuntpeople are cr@p, the show that was on during the rehab proved that, its just that they ate trapped by the nature of the show and the story line.

I would only be bothered if it went and was not replaced, as per the present Disney tradition.

I saw it one time, and that one time was enough for me. I absolutely HATED it. I knew right from the beginning that it was going to be bad. I was so bored the whole time, and so unconfortable on those "boards" they make you sit on. I was so bored that when I sensed that the show was over, I ran so fast out of there and vowed never to wait in line for that stupid show again. It was pathetic, but that's just my opinion.

I pretty much agree with everyone else---the show is very good, but it hasn't changed that much since the first time I saw it.
Also, if it is raining (which seems to be every time we are in Orlando!) they only do a small part of the show for safety reasons. Last time, we waited quite a long time for about a 20 minute show.

It absolutely needs to be updated!

My wife and I go to WDW at least once a year and we see IJESS almost every time. But this show just has not changed, and for a live show to go unchanged for almost 15 years is really pushing it.

Don't get me wrong, we enjoy it every time we go but at this point we're starting to memorize the lines. At the rate we go that's saying something.

Being a live show it should be fairly easy to update. Like civileng68 said, just change the sets and the action every once in a while and the show would be kept fresh and keep us excited to see it.

I really liked it the first few times that I saw it.. however now it has lost its appeal. If my fiance didn't beg me to see it each time we're there, I probably wouldn't go at all  I think it just needs to be changed up a bit... I know the guy in the audience works for the show, I know Indy's gonna outrun the boulder, I know the plane's gonna spin around...
I really love the Indiana Jones movies, and I realize that these scenes are in them. It just got a little repetative for me, that's all.

Last time I saw it was a few years back and I loved it, I throught it was very good and would surely watch it again next time i'm there.

However, if I went to WDW as often as most of you apear to, then I could see how it would get repetitive! Perhaps an update won't be too far off... :king:

I try to get picked but the guy in the ugly shirt always gets picked instead.:animwink: I've only seen it twice, and it's okay. The bad part - I keep thinking of that Disney special that aired featuring MGM when it first opened, and it had the New Kids on the Block on it. Donnie Walhberg played Indiana in a segment. Also, I think of my friend who swears one time when he and his family saw the show one of the cast members playing a Nazi in the background was african american. Of course the evidence tape is out of focus.
