Wats up Everybody,

I need to figure which park i need to go to to stay all day. There is no park-hopper option for us this year.
From the recent information i heard about MGM i don't know wat 2 do.
Right now i think my best bet is between Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
Can anyone help me decide between these 2.
Also, I'm looking for a good hotel on the WDW Resort or just around the WDW area.

Wow, that's a tough question, because those are my two favorites and I can't decide which one I like better. I agree...AK and MGM should both be out, because if you are looking to spend all day, IMO, those are the wrong parks. We have done partial days at those two, because we do the joint in hours and then hop over to EPCOT or MK.

Last year, we just went down long enough to do EPCOT. I chose that one because I wanted to try that new Soarin' ride. If it weren't for that, I'm not sure which one I would choose. I guess if rides are what you are looking for, then MK is for you, because it beats EPCOT hands down in terms of the number of rides. But if you are just looking for a nice relaxing day, enjoying scenery and doing a few rides here and there, probably EPCOT.

A little more info about your likes and dislikes would be helpful. I personally would choose Epcot, but if you are taking kids, MK would be better. The resort choice also depends on which park. If you are going to MK, Grand Floridian, Polynesian or Contemporary would be best. Epcot resorts are Boardwalk Inn, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan or Dolphin. If finances are an issue, forget the above resorts and get back to us!:)

It sounds like he's just making a one day trip down there and doing one park. If he was staying in the resort, then he would surely have the parkhopper option. At least that's how I was reading his posts anyway. I suppose he could be spending one night in a resort hotel and doing one parK.

Hey! Congrats. On going to WDW! It's awesome, I just got back from my 5th trip. So If I understand you correctly, you are going to only one theme park during your visit? Or are you going to all, but can't decide which one to spend a full day in? The answer to you're question really come down to a personal opinion. If It were me I would say definately either Epcot or Magic Kingdom. Those two are the "most full" day parks in the resort. IF you have been to MK, and you havn't been to Epcot in a while you may want to try Epcot. It's an amazing park, especally if you have a more mature group going. There have been some new additions in recent years: Mission:Space (2003), Soarin' (2005) Seas (late 06). If you have children in your party and you are somewhat new to the Disney parks or just a "magic" lover you may want to do The Magic Kingdom. It's the most popular theme park in the resort and has also had a few additions in recent years also. Philarmagic (2003), Wishes (2003) Stich (2004, but it doesn't count)

It really comes down to your personal preference. They are all wonderful parks, I would say that MGM (atleast for my trip party) is not the park I would choose to stay all day in if I only had one "whole day" park.

As far as a Disney Resort, there are many to choose from. Disney resorts have 3 diffirent price ranges: Value resorts $79-130, Moderate Resorts: $139-200, Deluxe Resorts: $205-805.( the prices vary depending on the season of your visit.) Again, this is another matter of preference.

Here are my picks: Value resort, All Star Movies resort. Moderate, Coronado Springs resort. (but most of the members on here will tell you to try Port Orleans) Deluxe: Tie between Animal Kingdom Lodge or The Contemporary Resort.
But remember it's your trip and your preference is what matters the most. Have a magical trip, and I this info helps you decide what to do.

:) :) :)

Okay we're leaving ATL Thursday July 23rd and we get to Florida on the same day and settle in.
On that Friday, we're going to a disney park (Epcot,MK, or MGM?) and on that saturday we are going to Busch Gardens(Free Military Tickets).
We've only been to MGM one time in 1994, One Time to AK when it first opened, Every Year We Go to MK, and We've Never Been To Epcot.

Magic Kingdom is a wonderful park because it's a classic, but if you've NEVER been to Epcot - That's my choice for you!! Epcot has some great attractions and the scenery is wonderful. If you like thrill rides then make sure you take up Soarin' early in the morning because the lines can become very long. Don't forget about Test Track and Mission: Space - two other great attractions. Then of course you have the classics - Spaceship Earth, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, etc. Don't forget to grab a great meal in the World Showcase either. Also - since you've never been to Epcot - you'll have to see Illuminations - It's a great show!!! Have fun!

So i don't know it seems like MK has more attractions than Epcot.
But, i wanted 2 go 2 MGM cause of Rockn'roller coaster and Tower of Terror.
But let's break it down these are the attractions:

MK: POC, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mtn, Haunted MAnsion, Mickey's Philharmagic, Goofy Barnstormer, INDy Speedway, Space Mtn, Buzz Lightyear Laser, and Stitch Great Escape. (WIshes)

Epcot: Mission Space, Test Track, Hkney I Shrunk Audience, Norway Maelostorm, Soarin, Ellen's Energy Adventure, and Body Wars. (Illimunations)

MGM: Sounds Dangerous, Star TOurs, Muppet 3d, BAcklot Tour, Who Wants 2 Be A Millionaire, Rockin Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Lights Motors Action and Indy Jones (Not Couinting Beauty & The Beast & Little MErmaid) (Fantasmic)

AK: Tough 2 Be A Bug, Safari, Kali River Rapids, Primeval Wirl, Tricea Top Spin, Dinosaur, and Expedition Everest.

Here's my 2 cents.
It's too hot in July to spend the whole day at AK. Trust me on this one.

MGM is not really a full day park IMHO. Unless you like to repeat.

Epcot is not really a ride-oriented park. It's got excellent entertainment, food & drinks though. Illuminations is magnificent at the end of the night.

Sounds like you are leaning towards MK. Nothing wrong with that.:)

If you want more thrills, go to Epcot. More tradition and characters, go to MK.
You may find it hard to spend an entire day at MGM if it isn't really busy and AK gets too humid and steamy to spend the entire day there

Thrill rides at epcot are somewhat like MK, they are very cool and detailed but not that "thrilling". 1. Mission:Space, a sate of the art simulator that takes you to mars, and for part of the ride you are weightless. 2. Test Track. An automotive proving ground where you are the crash dummy. You go on a veriety of road tests and extremes in inviormental conditions, for the grand finale you go on an outside track for speed tests with max speeds of 68 miles per hour. Soarin' Is a hanglider simulation that takes you through the sights, sounds, and smells of California. Note: If you are going for straight thrill rides go to MGM. Personally, depending on how many times you have been to MK, I would say you should try Epcot, it might be a plesant surprise!

There are many sites out there (including this one) that can give you much more info on the rides and parks than I have.

I'm going with MK by the way our dates changed to July 13-16.
I changed 2 MK because this year we want 2 experience evening extra magic hours so we are going with MK on July 14th. It should be fun 2 do the rides in the dark, i especially want 2 try Splash Mtn. and Space Mtn.

If you plan on spending your single park pass in either Disney's Animal Kingdom or Disney-MGM Studios I think you'll be disappointed. Unless you spend a lot of time wating in line (or you walk really slowly through DAK's animal viewing trails and Rafiki's Planet Watch) I think you'll find you run out of things to do relatively early in either of them. Unless you enjoy just wandering around enjoying the atmosphere (in which case, between DAK and Studios I'd recommend DAK without hesitation), I suggest either Magic Kingdom or Epcot. Magic Kingdom has by far the most Attractions, and you could spend a good part of a day in Epcot's World Showcase alone (again, if you're looking for atmosphere). Also, they have the best nighttime entertainment: Wishes and Spectromagic at the MK, and Illuminations at Epcot.

Overall, I think the MK is the best bang for your entertainment buck. It has two nighttime shows (if you arrive on a day Spectromagic is running), the best Streetmosphere, and enough Attractions, incuding most of the classics, to fill an entire day (or more). Just plan on spending a lot of time waiting in line.
