Which Castle for Dining?

My vote is for CRT...and here's why...
Last trip we dined at Akershus, CRT, and BoG (in that order). Now we've eaten at Akershus and CRT before, so BoG was the only new experience. Akershus is definitely in 3rd place- I really don't get the castle feeling in there...more of a kingdom nice tavern feeling, but it's BoG falling to 2nd that forces me to push aside any thoughts of a 4th castle. i.e. if BoG isn't first for me (for the reasons to follow), then any additional castles would have the same issues for me as well. Ultimately, BoG is very cool and we certainly oooo'd and aaaaah'd the whole time, but it still didn't hit me as strongly as the oooo & aaaaah factor at CRT + as I stood on the bridge of BoG watching Wishes and turning back and forth to see the effect's over Cindy's vs the effects over Beast's...I was still more smitten with Cindy's. I think it's that Cindy's is a convincing castle inside and out whereas I'm not fully convinced of the forced perspective at Beast's and wanted just a tad more wow in the entry.

I have only ate in CRT before, have adrs at BOG and Akershus for May. I will say though before even going I don't consider Akershus a castle. From pictures and the outside of it, it just doesn't say castle to me.
BOG and CRT I'll be able to compare once I get back, CRT is THE CASTLE so that alone gets some brownie points. But BOG is from Beauty and the Beast which is my favorite princess movie....Should be interesting to compare the two.

Having dined at CRT in the days before every meal was a character meal, I can say I'd welcome ANY castle dining that doesn't include characters. As a grown-up, I had more fun eating my meal with my family unmolested by Disney celebrities, barrages of camera flashes and dumbed-down menus. It allowed me to fantasize that _WE_ were the royalty dining in the castle. It was great fun, and moreover was peaceful and relaxing. (I swear, the food wasn't bad, either.)
That's not to say that character meals aren't fun and shouldn't be a part of every family's vacation -- they ARE fun. I'd just really love it if there were some "castle dining" options that didn't include the rotating cast of princess glitterati. I suppose BOG is the best option, since it has only the Beast and he's not going around to the tables, is he?

I fear that Akershus suffers from the same problem as the man, boy and donkey in the old Aesop fable: in trying to please everyone, they please no one. I'd love to go if they were offering an even mildly authentic Scandinavian menu inside their lovely replica castle, and others prefer it to serve as a bargain-priced knock-off of CRT, with kid-friendly food and a bevy of princesses to meet. Akershus seems to have taken the middle ground, offering just enough of Norway in the menu to turn off the kiddie character meal crowd, and just enough of the kid stuff to turn off those who want a taste of the culture the pavilion is supposed to represent.
It makes me a little sad. As someone who has traveled to Norway and was blown away by the amazing food in all its variety, I am disappointed that Disney has no interest in providing a similar experience for those dining at Akershus. It could be so amazing, if Disney cared a little more about honoring cultures and introducing guests to the sights, sounds and tastes of a faraway place, and a little less about packing every restaurant with little girls in pageant gowns. But I digress...

We loved our experience at Akershus this past September. We ate breakfast there. Our DD4 loved the Princess parade! The food was great & we got autographs from Aurora, Ariel, Snow White, & Cindy. You also, get a picture with Belle! We haven't done CRT yet & we're hoping for BOG on our next trip!
