We are visiting WDW May 21st - 25th (Sun-Thurs) and staying at the Poly. It is my husband and I and our two boys 4.5 and 3 years old. We are doing the dining plan.

I'm trying to figure out what parks we will do each day (planning to come back to the room for a good 3 hours or so mid afternoon) and which restaurants we should not miss.

I'm assuming that all or most of the restaurants take reservations? I already know we want to do some character meals Cafe Mickeys (breakfast?) and Ohana's (dinner - is that a character meal?) What do you recommend?

Thanks!

Did I mention that I am sooo excited?!

Go to Ohana....DEFINATELY!!!!! Dinner is not a Character meal, however they do concentrate on alot of family things like having coconut races and hula dances and parades with the kids. They loved it!!! (and so did I who just watched... and it was good food also!!)

A good breakfast if you are in the area is the Whipsering Canyon Cafe at the WL... It's not a character either, but it's fun like Ohana.

I would suggest Crystal Palace for Pooh, etc. Chef Mickeys for other characters. Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner has CHaracters.

Donald's Breakfastasouras is over at AK.

& since you will already be at the Poly, book the breakfast at Ohana also if you want to see Lilo and Stitch.

Good luck...

OH... And make reservations as soon as you can 180 days out.... OHana fills up quickly!!!! I imagine so do the others also.

I would start at www.AllEarsNet.com, click on the "dining" link at the top of the page. There are reviews of all the restaurants (listed by park) and up-to-date menus. We love the character meals at Liberty Tree Tavern and Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom.

I think Steve has added some menus to this site as well but I haven't quite figured out where those are yet.

Try to do Chef Mickey's for breakfast and dinner. Both are excellent. I'll bet your kids would love the Mickey ravioli they have at dinner. And the pancakes at breakfast are better than iHop's.

Liberty Tree Tavern at the MK is decent as well.

Ohana's Dinner isn't character, however, it is fun and fabulous! They always have activities during dinner for the kids. And, the food is to die for. I think your family would really love it!

Liberty Tree Tavern is good. If your boys don't mind princesses, do Ekershus in Norway for lunch (it is outstanding).

Also, the Brown Derby at MGM for dinner is excellent. I think you can do any of these on the meal plan.

Definitely OHANA! Also, in Epcot we've always loved LeCellier. One of the places I haven't tried, but would like to is the Garden Grill. I think it is a character meal and the restaurant revolves.

I want to second AllEars as well as second (well, about 10th by now) 'Ohana. It is just a great place.

I also would suggest asking each of the kids where they would like to go for one meal. I know my Mom and Dad did that with me when we were kids and it was great. They put out all the maps (we always did park restaurants instead of resorts, but go for it) and made little cards with each place in a more kid-friendly description. Then both my sister and I (and mom, dad, and grandma) got to pick dinner for one night at any place we wanted. There is a small catch in that my sister picked the Blue Ribbon Bakery (for the cookie sandwiches) one year. We went, but made a stop by casey's on the way for Mom and Dad. Point being, you might want to censor a few places so that nutrition is at all possible!
