My sincerest condolences.I have great neighbors. Tonight it was my turn. My doorbell was ringing over and over and my cameras had already told me someone was there, I pulled on sweats ( I don't sleep in much) and gun in hand I opened the door. It was my friend from 2 doors down. She told me I think Jim is dead. I I didn't know what to do, but I knew you would. She was in her nightgown and it was about 25F out. I invited her in and said stay here. I think she is 90 and Jim maybe 92?. I ran down to their house. Jim was indeed dead and had been for a while. No pulse, no breath and he was ice cold. I called my next door neighbor who is a Nashville fire Capt. Thank God he was off shift. He and he wife went to my house to look after June. I called 911 and waited. What a crap night. But she came to me for help. That meant something. And no I couldn't do anything. The fact she thought I could really meant something. If I remember correctly he had stage 4 colon cancer. If I make it to 92 I am good with that. I did really love Jim and in his younger days (80's) we watched a lot of football together.
