Where do I get Disney Dollars?

I did a thread search and couldn't find my answer so I'm going to have to ask...

Where do I get Disney Dollars if I live in Canada and I don't live anywhere near a Disney Store? Can you order them? I thought I'd read somewhere that you could get them via mail but maybe that's only in the US!?! I'd really like to have some prior to my trip to give to my son (who is now starting to understand the concept of money)!

Thanks!

I think if you go online, you can purchase some from the web site. If not, I think you may be able to get them from guest relations in WDW. They will just mail them to you. My son loves them. Actually, we give them to him as incentives for good behavior at school and soccer. Today he scored 6 goals and I told him I will get him six Disney dollars. Then he can use them on his trip in August. I'm not giving him the dollars just because he scored the goals, but because he used great teamwork, didn't give up and really was a good sport.

If you lived in the U.S., you could get them at any Disney Store, but here in Canada they don't carry them.

At WDW, you can purchase them at any Guest Relations or at World of Disney at a straight dollar-for-dollar exchange. I wouldn't buy them on-line unless you want to pay extra for something Disney charges you nothing for.

EDIT: disneydollars.net just suggests e-bay or mail-order from Disney. The mail-order is limited to "domestic" orders only.

Thank you Monty! I didn't know that about the Disney Stores - I assumed they all had the Disney Dollars. And they do charge $10 shipping (which is a lot in my opinion). I noticed the "domestic orders only" as well but I thought that was only for one of the addresses not the other (DL or WDW - can't remember which). It doesn't matter anyway b/c I'm going to have to wait to get down there before I get any (I'm too cheap to pay shipping on money:p). I'll just give my son some "real money" and we'll get him some Disney Dollars down there!:animwink:

The Canadian Disney Stores don't carry them because of the exchange rate issue. Keeping track is almost impossible and would be potentially expensive for the store.

I'm pretty sure the only way you could get them is by way of e-bay and then you run risks.

When you're there [if you don't mind investing for future trips :lookaroun] buy some extra to use for your son in anticipation of the next time you go. :D It's not like they'll expire and at today's exchange rates, you'll probably make a profit over time [once the U.S. economy recovers :lookaroun].

Yes, there will be future trips!:animwink: (May have to stock up while I'm there!:lookaroun)

There is a Disney Store in the Orlando airport - I'm sure you can get Disney dollars there before you leave for the resort.

Thanks, that a great idea!
