Rather heavy-handed with the trademark, though that may be a Canadian thing. The laws differ in the United States, and it is very common for a business to lose value of their trademark as the name becomes synonymous with a product or service. Some companies even encourage it. Those are not beaver tails. They are cookies that did not pass quality control.
Those are just puff pastry that are called elephant ears in some places. The Canadian beaver tails are a fried dough. The ones in the picture are baked.
