One last question - If I book directly through Disney, they won't let me book 2 adults, 3 children in a 1 bedroom, will they?

I'm kind of torn. I booked a 1 bedroom villa at Beach Club through a DVC member, and now the 30% offer comes out, I could save myself $900 for 11 nights by switching to the Polynesian.

Not exactly an apples to apples comparison. You get a good deal more with a 1br at BC vs a standard room at the Poly. If that "good deal more" is wroth $900 is up to you.

Yeah, I do love the 1 bedroom villas. But I also love the rooms at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian. Plus, I think the Poly has the best transportation options for both Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

Hey, Master Yoda. I thought you only get housekeeping in DVC resorts every four days. Do they do it every day?
That's as a member, and I believe it's just trash and towels. I was asking about booking as a non member paying cash.
What he said...if you're a non-member you either book by renting points or paying cash. When you rent points, it's trash and towel every 4 days. When you pay cash, it's housekeeping daily.

Members that use their points get trash and towel every 4 days. :)

I've found from renting points that housekeeping isn't necessary at all. Having the washer and dryer, worst case, you can always wash your towels. And though it might not technically be announced, no housekeeper has ever given us a hard time about grabbing a few extra towels off one of their carts if we ask them. And if they're not around, we'll just grab a couple anyways. Not a big deal.

As for trash, we don't eat any meals in the room, so there's very little trash, and if there is some, we just bag it up and leave it outside the door. It's always taken away.

I agree with this. My only issue is worrying that I'll run out of the shampoo/conditioner, what with the long hair and all. :D It's been okay so far though...and certainly is a small price to pay when you look at how much money renting points saves.

I thought it was trash and towels every four days, but if you are staying more than 7 you get a full clean on day 4 and T&T on 7

If that exceeds the occupancy of the room, then no. If any of your 3 kids are 2 or under they will not count against your occupancy.

What about 1BR units that you can book for 5 people on points - such as VWL. If he books with cash can he put 5 in those units?
