There is a new exec in charge of Run Disney, ESPN and water parks.

Sounds like the perks of the chicago marathons I volunteered with my dad a few times..

But did some of the runners go number 1 & 2 behind the bushes and trees near the water stations like at the road races at WDW?

We were mostly helping store the racers belongings..Thankfully I never saw that.

It's unreal....people are working -volunteering their time so WDW can run this thing.

Making them pay to get in and do this is such an insult to their time and effort.

Not only should they get in free they should be fed for free also.

It's crazy. Top Down has no clue how to run this company.

It's been established as a perk for volunteering, not promised or guaranteed, but accepted as established protocol reward for the volunteers. A generous "Magical" special unique to Disney perk now erased. Now volunteering to work Run Disney will not be so special or unique. Not a good look for the company. TWDC just continues to chip away at what's left of the Disney "Magic" aura, nothing particularly special anymore.

OK let's go down the rabbit hole, Run Disney was broken out as a separate business unit so any park passes would be charged to them presumably paid out of their receipts to the park?
Maybe it is Run Disney that wants to show positive growth so is no longer willing to furnish park admission as an incentive to attract volunteers to operate their events?
While I think this is a very stupid, shortsighted view it may be the case.
Might be that Dis thought they had the January lull filled so they didn't need to have a marathon to fill the void and will strangle rundisney until it withers
