When did you know you loved Disney?

Well, yes. I did a long time in F&B, but I work in IT now...and did when that trip report was written, but I'm surprised you remembered it. Yes, she got sick, and so did I.
Sorry. IT. I remembered some, though! I didn't remember you getting sick. Didn't feel so bad for you, I guess! :) I used to have an amazing memory (which helps a lot in school!), but it's been really spotty the last year or so. New stuff doesn't stick. Old stuff gets jumbled. But it's getting better and I remembered some! :)

It was a good trip report. I didn't read it all at once, but I read the whole thing. It was interesting. I give it an A. And your daughter was cute. She had cute clothes, too. :)

The first time I was ever in WDW I wasn't even a year old. My mom had me strapped on the front of her, as I was the youngest my parents took the elder three siblings before the oldest "got too old". Of course i don't remember being there but there is this particular picture of my siblings posing with Mickey, and I am staring at him in awe reaching out to touch him. My parents said I never really cried or anything while we were there, so they certainly noticed my love before I did.
Then you add growing up on Disney movies and cartoons and add on ABC's Sunday night Disney sponsored movie thing and I was hooked. Even though I live in Minnesota, WDW has always felt like my second home :)

One? what took you so long?

Watching all the classics on the vhs collection, I grew up on pinocchio, robin hood, jungle book and of course all of the princess and the whole renaissance era. I would find myself loving all the music and my favorite part of each vhs was watching the ads for walt disney world with the two brothers packing their suit case and getting excited thinking about going myself with my family.

that was when I knew I was a Disney fan through and through but it wasn't till my trip back in like 2010 to magic kingdom after not going for almost 6 years that it really sunk in how much I loved the parks. I feel like when I turn the corner at the magic kingdom I'm going to see a much younger version of me running around with a pair of mouse ears and a balloon in his hand with his family chasing after him.

there was a time ... in the beginning...when I had to wait seven years between trips. It used to kill me

I can't remember when I didn't. We always had Disney books in the house and watched every single Disney movie or show that came on tv (before VCRs or DVDs). I was lucky to have grown up in FL. We made our first trip, I believe, in '77. Yikes.

I left Orlando when I was twelve...two years before the parks opened...never forgave my parents...but didn't get to go until ninteen eighty sven or something

I don't remember ever not loving Disney. My favorite Little Golden book when I was a little girl was “Cinderella”! I still have it! At my house if you got to stay home from church on Sunday night and got to watch “The Wonderful World of Disney” it was because you were deathly ill! But I can remember the times I did get to stay home and watch, and oh how I loved with Uncle Walt and Disney! I can remember when it was a special occasion when “Cinderella” was on TV! Fast forward a few years and 3 sweet girls later, we were able to afford our first trip to WDW. My sweet hubby had grown up going and couldn’t wait to share it with us. He told me he watched my face when I first saw the castle for my reaction. How sweet! I cried of course! I’ve always loved Disney; but that first trip and each trip since that was it I was done! In love!!And have been even more in love with all things Disney since.
P.S. mrdisman.....I get it! I so get it!

Pretty much immediately. I too grew up watching Walt on TV, and remember (quite vaguely) being in MK as a very young child. Have been going back ever since!

My parents and I made the yearly Holiday Trek via I-95 many, many times. By South of the Border I was already getting fidgety, but by Savannah, GA - I was going out of my mind. :D

I don't have the patience for that anymore and just fly right to MCO these days! ;)

I used to have a Mickey Mouse record player! ( I wish I still had it!:(). I loved watching the old and the new Mickey Mouse Club!:) I had those old record and books combos that I wish I still had!:( I remember Hiawatha, Pooh, and Mary Poppins ones the most!:)
Only I don't remember going to the parks except once when I was little. That was when the Contemporary was affordable and there was only the MK!:D
I only really got "hooked" on going to WDW in 2007! it was the most memorable family vacation ever! We have gone every year since then!:)

In 2003 when I was 3 I got to go to disney for my 1st time, when I saw one of thos big characters walking around the park.... I would cry, a day later on my trip my mom got me small mickey mouse stuffed animal I had it where ever i went now I have a collection of 13 mickey mouse stuff animals I was hooked since then ( also going to disney 24 times since then might have helped develop my love). PS to this day those big characters scare me sooooo much.

I've been going every year since 1998, and I cannot remember much about what my 6 year-old self thought about visiting the parks first time around... but I do remember watching the Disney advert loop for the first time and just feeling so excited at the prospect of being 5 minutes away from such a magical place. Every time I hear the Zip-a-dee-doo-dah Tip-for-today tune I still get goosebumps! ...it wasn't until several years later and discovering the online Disney community that I developed such an appreciation for Walt Disney World and an appreciation for all the wonderful experiences I have had throughout the years :)

Kindergarden, late 70's, my Aunt sparked my life long obsession with Disney with a graduation present to The Magic Kingdom. Thanks Linda :).

I was brought to WDW at just months old and at least once a year thereafter. I can't really think of a defining moment because I was lucky enough to always have it a part of my life.

I do remember that what kept me wanting to go back was little things like being the first in HS, just me and my dad and we would do TOT, RNR, & Muppet3D then we would spend the rest of the day at the pool. It was special us time and my siblings and Mom stayed back at the resort. Also, nothing was more memorable that waiting for the Boon, Crockette, Chip & Dale busses at Fort Wilderness which is where we always stayed. Always getting yelled at by my parents for climbing all over teh bus stop railings.. "You are going to hurt yourself!! Get Down!" The hoop - de - doo was an absolute favorite as well.

When watching Disney's wonderful world of color every once in awhile they would showcase Disney Land. My sister and I dreamed of visiting and in 1959 my dad bravely drove across country, ala Clark Griswold, and took us there. I've been hooked ever since.

yeah that was great wasn't it...young people don't get how state of the art the animatronics was back then...I wanted to go so bad...but our parents never took us...instead...they moved away

I remember when it was just 3 parks...and I could easily hit every ride in every part in a week..then they threw in AK and that slowed me up a bit
