Taking out multi-day tickets as that's how I normally purchase my tickets - A one day ticket to Universal for this Saturday (7/28) is $124 (and that doesn't include ExpressPass) - for Disney it's $119. So yeah, I think Disney provides more value than Universal by a decent margin (just my own personal opinion, I know others differ and I don't want to get into that argument), so the current price seems like a great deal to me, especially when you take into account that I get FastPasses with a Disney ticket, while I don't get anything with a Universal Ticket (unless I pay a premium).

I also priced out a ticket to my local Six Flags ($69). Now, using that as a baseline, I'd say that Disney's attraction quality as compared to Six Flags is probably worth around $40. Then I would pay $30 just to see the Disney nighttime spectaculars. The entertainment and dining quality is also much higher at Disney parks than at Six Flags, so I'll give that a value of $30. So overall, I think a day at Disney is probably worth $100 more than a day at six flags (again, personally), so that $169 would probably be my ceiling - but I'd need to do rope drop to closing (with maybe a break) for that value.

Interesting...

However...If the single/multiday tickets went to an average of $169...they would suffer a 10-20% drop in attendance and Orlando would be in crisis mode.

No Non-disney diehard is paying $30 for a projection show and a parade. They have and always will be the most overrated aspect of a Disney park ticket. People want 12 hours of freedom of choice entertainment...not 11 minutes packed like sardines.

Again, this is my *personal* ceiling, I'm not advocating that Disney raise prices to that, nor do I think that others may share the same value. And to me, HEA is more than a projection show, and other parks don't come close to Disney in regards to nighttime shows. I'd easily pay $30 to see FoF + HEA, or just to see Illuminations, especially since I don't go that often. Fantasmic/Rivers of Light, probably not, but those two shows I easily would...

But again, that's just me...

You’re losing points, Bud...

Are you talking the FIRST time? Maybe I could see that...

Somewhat related to this thread, I'm currently planning the 4th and final day of my Orlando trip and I'm looking at various options of things to do. So far, I have not purchased any regular park admission for either Universal or Disney, opting instead to do their Halloween events.

While there are things at the parks I'd like to do, I find it really hard to justify paying $102+ tax just to go on a few rides at AK or Epcot, or paying an additional $62 + tax, to upgrade to a park hopper for that day.

It's the kind of thing were if it were $75 or less, I wouldn't be writing this post. In the past I have purchased a MNSSHP ticket and a day at Epcot and felt that was a good value, but the prices for both have increased quite a bit, and I think I'm at the point where I just say "no thanks, not this time".

All of these "they already hit my max" votes are bull. Most of ya'll will still keep going to Disney. Maybe not as often, but I bet 80% of you will.

My vote is "other." I believe it is way overpriced right now, but I will continue to buy these tickets until I LOGICALLY cannot afford to go anymore.
