What Would Make You Stop Visiting WDW?

It's been almost 7 years since my last WDW visit and, during that time, I've seen WDW undergo changes, and plan things for the future, that have made me lose alot of the passion I had for WDW, and have really minimized my desire to go back one day. The Splash/Tiana situation and the ROA/TSI/Cars change have really turned me off, but yesterday's announcement about the scene replacements on CoP was the final nail in the coffin for me. The parks are turning into something that I really don't think I can enjoy anymore, at least not enjoy as much as I used to, both thematically and operationally, and I can't justify spending the continuously inflated prices for something I find less value in. I am finding other options for my vacation $$ now that are much more attractive to me than WDW. 10 years ago, I never would have thought that I would feel this way, but here we are.
I'm interested in hearing what would make other people stop visiting-or are there people that would visit regardless of what is done, including price increases?

I know exactly how you feel and unfortunately feel the same way I was once a huge Disney fan grew up on Disney, took my 3 boys many times. However the constant price increases and dare I say changing attractions to placate a minority has put the nail in the coffin for me as well. Maybe I am wrong but I feel Disney is now catering to the DVC crowd with their ever building generic monstrosities. Society has changed also and not for the better people are not as civil as they used to be and you see it in the parks. I have fond memories of great vacations in the past at WDW I'll live with that.

The things that keep me visiting -

Voices of Liberty
Art Festival
Magic Kingdom live entertainment (band, ragtime piano, dapper dans)
Nightly fireworks
Other live entertainment like piano at grand, yeehaw Bob, boardwalk, etc.

The ease and ability to use and enjoy the variety of transportation.

The ability to visit resorts and enjoy them - animal kingdom lodge, wilderness lodge, port orleans, etc.

I feel like there should be one thread for people to complain why they are not going. For me - I feel there hasn't been a great ride since Everest was built. Almost Flight of Passage but I hate the preshow.

I would stop going if either the crowds got to be too much and/or if the lines for the attractions became too intolerable. I've been going for 50+ years now and accept the changes... I remember and miss some things, and get excited about the new creations, and still enjoy going back to old favorites. As an example, I saw COP as a child in NY, so a lot of nostalgia for me... I get on COP most visits. Still, I'm excited to see what the new attraction will be. I also really enjoyed Splash, and find Tiana's lacking, so I do other things instead. I love Tron and Guardians... love Pirates still (both coasts).

Changes are hit and miss. I roll with it. Ultimately, if there are too many people trying to enjoy it at the same time and I can't find a season or a method to avoid long waits, I'd probably stop going.

This is a a great answer. I feel the same, if it ever gets to a point where I simply don’t enjoy it anymore then I’ll stop, but I have not reached that point. There’s been some things I don’t like (splash, Disney look relaxation etc) but also things I love and are excited for. I know they’re catering to a large spectrum of people which is a challenge to keep everyone happy. For now, when I visit I still feel I am experiencing something that I enjoy.

Excessive crowd conditions would be the # 1 reason that would make me stop returning. When I can't move through the parks easily, have to wait an abnormally amount of time for a 3 minute ride, can't get dining reservations because everything is booked and I find transportation is not able to get me to and from because of an excess of riders.
I have been more choosy on when we go on trips to try to find lesser crowds but it's gotten worse over the years.
#2. Poor service from the CM's at the attractions, in the dining areas and resorts. I expect courtesy, pleasant interactions and efficiency when dealing with problems that come up.
#3. Disney policies that get put in place that would make my inability to have a pleasant time on my vacations.

For us it was the other options, for what a Disney vacation now costs we can go to Europe, an exotic destination, or on a very nice cruise instead.

We still enjoy the Disney parks as much as we did before but what used to be a $5k vacation is now $10-15k and for that price we’d rather go to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, etc than Disney.

Disneys still amazing but their price point is now competing with superior vacations (in our opinion) that we find a better value for our money.

Yes, that’s one of the reasons I mentioned the transportation and resorts - if they expand the gate keeping of the bus and transit systems that would definitely be a factor.

For us it would be money and/or health.

Crowds are lower than 2019, although it doesn't feel like it because of the failed LL system.

Service seems fine to us, we still have pleasant interactions with cast member I think mostly because we treat them like we would want to be treated.

The DAS policy changes did affect us significantly, family that routinely qualified for DAS, who's conditions are obviously worse now no longer qualify, but it has not stopped us (yet) we just go on less attractions which Disney was counting on with the change and I guess helps others.

Our visit in November maybe our last time as we live in the UK and our health insurance etc costs are nearly £1500 between us and that will be a big factor about going anymore. We have been going since the 80’s so it will be a big wrench leaving MK the last day.

1. A tipping point reached over pricing
2. A tipping point reached on the IP-fication of EPCOT
(both of the above might be deliberate strategies by WDC to influence the type and amount of visitors)
3. Age/health and my ability to do this sort of travelling from the UK

My father bought into DVC in 1998 and has continued buying DVC points. A lot of his points aren't expiring for another 40 years. Eventually, I am going to inherit them. I'll be going for a LONG time yet.

I will say I have been favoring Disneyland for park time over WDW lately (minus Epcot). I just find it easier to manage crowds there. Most of my September trip to WDW will be pool time at Stormalong Bay.

Our next WDW trip will very likely be a resort focused vacation with an Epcot day (and maybe an AK day), as part of a larger cruise vacation, we’re at the point we have more fun at POFQ, Disney Springs, and resort hopping than we do in the parks. EP and AK are still unique enough to us we find them worth the money but we’ve been to DL and DCA dozens (hundreds 🤔) of times so we’ve done nearly all the rides at MK and HS so many times we don’t find them worth the money, or hassle, anymore.

We still find being in the “bubble” extremely enjoyable though.

There was a time we were disappointed we never bought into DVC, then after the 2020 changes we were glad we didn’t, but now as we’re getting older we kind of wish we did again just for the resort experience. Without buying park tickets a (mostly) prepaid DVC vacation would just be a cheap relaxing getaway.
