What WOL has going for itself

I think due to several factors the outlook of WOL is positive. I'll use a comparison to its evicted neighbor, Horizons.

Wonders of Life////////////////Horizons
2 D-Ticket rides/////////////////// 1 C-Ticket Ride
Large interactive area//////////// No interactive areas
Present Popularity/////////////////Not popular in last few years
(Cranium Command)///////////(though always popular with me)

I find it hard to believe that Disney will tear down the newest pavilion with one minor-thrill attraction (Body Wars), one very popular attraction (Cranium Command), and a huge interactive area (Fitness Fairgrounds). If Disney did some work, I think they would find that a pharmacutical (sorry about spelling) like Merck, Pfizer, Pharmacia, which all posted huge profits this year, would be perfect candidates to be a sponsor for this great pavilion.

by all means change it!:D

Can I get an amen?
Wonders of Life is my least favorite due to the fact that it is so outdated, look at the Body Wars videos, they look like they are from the 70's and the pavilion is not the most attractive one either.

I like The Land's interior! It has a very calm and reflective feel to it...:) And it's actually a PAVILION!... The balloons on top, the nice food court (Sunshine Season Food Fair), the sloping ramps and staircases, the fountain, is all very nice and when I go it always seems new and never outdated... But that's just me...;)

So you want to get rid of Wonders of Life. Ok...well, what would replace it? Mixing education about medicine, stress, anatomy, senses, and, well, wonders of life brought through light and audio, this pavilion needs nothing more than updated computers and shows, new paint jobs.

It's one of the last calm and peaceful "healthy" pavilions, you know? I love the music and healthy atmosphere.

The pavilion needs to be updated to todays or tomorrows views, The pavilion does look outdated and bodywars does seam a little fake and tame, Update the movie and facts, update the pavilion with new coors, make it vibrant with life,

(And try to do it without a sponsor, good gamble with that)

I say Wonders of Life is one of the STRONGEST pavilions left at Future World. Looks may be decieving.

Mixing education about medicine, stress, anatomy, senses, and plain wonders of life brought through light and audio, this pavilion needs nothing more than updated computers and shows, new paint jobs.

It's one of the last calm and peaceful "healthy" pavilions. I love the music and healthy atmosphere. If you call this McDonalds, try going to the ImageWorks at Imagination. Change THAT place before Wonders of Life if you want McDonalds.

What they DON'T need is Toy Story, future space, or a coaster. I say, keep, but FURTHER, the many Wonders of Life. :) [/

I think that the WOL is very nice....i know its old and needs updating but the stuff inside is strong i.e Cranium Command and Body Wars.....they arent left out of my "to see" list

The only thing I don't do at WoL is the Body Wars attraction. However the pavilion - I cannot miss it! It's one of the only places left that brings me back... as if I was in 1993 -- I just love the place. I don't know what I'll do without it! So many memories..:D

are you kidding? they could make this place great! there's no need in tearing down a perfectly good building (and a very interesting looking building, if you ask me!)
i agree with Lil' Buford! it's one of the best (if not THE best) pavilions to relax in!
AND i agree with SirNimajneb! The Land's interior is great...very calm and relaxing...i really like the brightness that WoL has (it's like a constant sun-shiny day in there) but they could also do the limited light look that The Land has...bottom line, WoL needs updates (even though i do kinda like the nostalgic feel of it) but defineately not an overhaul....it's got way too much potential for them to just give up and tear it down.

one thing i do agree needs to be gotten out though, is Body Wars....i rode for the first time this past Nov. and i'm usually good with rides like that (i adore Star Tours) but BW just about made me sick! i felt terrible when i got off that ride! :hurl:

With the human genome project going on, and gene therapy, and all this stuff about genes and such, I think that WOL SHOULD be updated, perhaps even a major overhaul, but it needs to retain that lighthearted feel to it, a positive and sensitive outlook on today's health and medicine. But I think that Disney could update the pavilion, possibily adding in a major attraction about DNA along the lines of Body Wars, but instead of going into the bloodstream, you shrink more microscopicly and enter a DNA, and you could "ride" the DNA down its helix a la an updated BW simulator, or even employ new technology like CAVE to create a truely immersive experinece into DNA, and the possibilities DNA and genes have in curing human ailments over the next century. That would be cool! But, it must stay true to its spirit and Purpose and Quality and should offer Exciting attractions the whole family can enjoy together.:)

---and---

Sketch105 says; While we're at it, I think the Land needs a big update on the inside.

-Is anyone seeing a pattern..? this is practically the entire future world that is in the same condition as the above mentioned attractions... -dont get me wrong, they both have some great components, need some updateing here and there sure, but they still have plenty of potential... and my personal opinion is that this is probably how disney feels about future world as well. hence project jemini!:animwink:

WoL really does need an update...every time I go in there now there's nobody there. We were there in December and I decided to ride Body Wars, but my mom couldn't...it was so dead that the CM manning the door at body wars went and sat and talked to my mom the whole time I was in the ride. Cranium Command is a really good show though, I thoroughly enjoy it.

Health, the human body, stress, etc. are such cutting edge things. There's just so much more that Disney could do with this pavilion....

Isn't retro "in" these days?

I do think that the info presented needs to be updated, but as for the look of WoL - please leave it be!

I fdon't think it should completely change but it needs an update to bring people to see it. I mean I love the bikes and the shows/ rides are great, it's justs starting to be something not exciting enough for most peolpe though. I love the pavillion the way it is but whe I walk in and there is NO ONE there it makes me sad:(

This is funny. I just got through posting on another thread (about which rides/attractions should go), and I said they should replace WOL with Horizons. And then I saw this thread and the initial comparisons between Horizons and WOL. Well I laughed anyway.

I will say that i disagree with the comparison on a couple of points: Horizons was not a 'C' ticket ride by any means. It was classic E ticket all the way. And WOL may have 2 'D' ticket attractions, but something needs to be done with Body Wars. I never liked it much because it gave me a neckache once since it is so jerky.
Finally, I don't really know how much 'present popularity' WOL has, but Horizons was torn down years ago...it's kinda hard to compete when that happens.

I do like Cranium Command a great deal, but I think they need to refilm it with newer stars in the body roles and a more modern version of the school/fashions. Every year that goes by, less and less people remember Hans and Franz, Norm from Cheers (George Wendt), etc. It really looks '80s.
