What is open in May 2012?

Hi,
I am new to this forum so please be patient while I work out how to use it :confused:
Our next visit is in May this year and I am wondering if anyone knows what new things will be open at Magic Kingdom?
I can not wait to see the whole park complete next year but I am hoping that some things will be open on this visit.

I would expect the area of Storybook Circus that has already opened will be the only part of the new Fantasyland open at that time, with the addition of the second Dumbo.

I know that BTMRR will be down until end of May:cry:I believe TEST TRACK will be down from April until September!:mad: So many parts of the new FL won't be ready, but looking forward to the announcement as to when BE OUR GUEST restaurant will open.:shrug:

May might give enough time to have opened the tents as well, but probably not unthreatening cases jr play area.


On this note, what are the chances of the little mermaid being open by December?

The outside of Mermaid is looking good, but there is still a lot of site work to do around LM and BatB before they can open the area. The bridge to Belle's village and the LM area still has a ways to go and they don't appear to have even started lining the water features. Then there is all the walkways and landscaping still to do. I would think late summer at the very earliest.

If I were planning a trip to WDW just for the FLE, I would wait until early next year--at the earliest. I was willing to believe a late Spring/early summer opening for TLM, but it's not going to happen. I'd be surprised if we saw it by December.

It will be interesting to see the rumor mill churning this fall. :)

We just got conifirmation back from Disney Performing Arts that we're performing on 12/1 of this year and we'll be there for 8 days surrounding that date.

Please tell me which FLE attractions will be (tentatively) open by then!!!

All of Storybook Circus should be open, and from the sounds of things, TLM hopefully will as well. Be Our Guest is still up in the air for me personally, although I've heard October/November as well. They're working on some of the village building details from what I can see when I've been in the park lately, and they're starting to paint some of the new rock over the gate next to Mermaid. It's a little hard to tell how much progress they've made on the wall immediately behind the construction walls, but I would guess it's coming along fairly fast, as they're starting to frame some more details on the top of the wall section that is currently visible.

Overall, it seems like they're doing more detailing up high, but there's still a long ways to go below what can be seen above the construction walls.

I went out and bought a soda blaster. So far, the results are good after blasting the paint off a chrome piece and two pieces that were painted over powder coat. I blasted off the clear first, then the color coat.

I have got to say BatB area looks almost done from the outside and on the left I saw foliage. And plus to the far right of TLM area there is still a few rocks to be painted. That's what I inferred from Scuttle's last aerial photos.
