What happens to Osborne Lights if Carsland comes to DHS?

Why not do both...i heard Lights, Action show would go and if thats going Backlot tour would almost guaranteed to be next. I really doubt all that would have to go. But that would be a tough decision..an amazing cars land vs a not so amazing NY city set that's only valuable for 2 months out of the year..wouldn't want to be the guy that has to choose that.

Relax....Streets of America is NOT part of their expansion plan --- the DHS version of Carsland is slated for the Backlot Tour area -- there is a LOT of space back there when they tear out all of the current Backlot attractions buildings and such -- while the studio building will remain, the parking lots, all the drive areas, and everything back there will be gone...There is some thinking that catastrophe Canyon will remain part of the racing cars ride and be repurposed for that...This was also confirmed in the most recent edition of the Unofficial Guide 2013...Streets of America will NOT be part of that plan....

Most of the highly controversial attractions that cause things to get in a bunch, are the ones that Walt had a hand in designing. Anything at Universal is just a copy of something else, nothing original. CoP, PoTC, HM, SW, CBJ and Tiki are the sacred cows at Disney. Everything else is free to change or at least not cause a near riot if they do.

ok maybe for some people, but I have no idea what Walt did or didn't do so that's not a factor for our family. The "sacred" attractions for us are the ones with the most memories and sentimental value attached for our family. Same goes for Universal. It doesn't have anything to do with Walt on our end.

Apologies for drifting so far off topic!

Yup! That's what I said. I was explaining why certain attractions at WDW are sacred cows, but think positively, before too long we will all be dead and then they will be free to bulldoze everything.

I'd personally like to see them do something better with Streets of America. Do the two months of Christmas lights really outweigh using the space for one or two major attractions in what is otherwise a pretty deserted photo op most of the time?

I would at least like to see them utilize the space better with perhaps some more unique M&Gs - perhaps Giselle or Bolt in New York? - and how about throwing a few more performance-oriented CMs there to create a street fair atmosphere. Maybe have some unique food carts that only pop up for midday, much like ones that are really in places like NYC and San Fran. Anything would be better than the 1-2 sad little kiosks that are there now.

The Osborne Lights were originally displayed on the houses on Residential Street, 1995-2003. Free hot chocolate in the beginning.:D

I remember that. It was so pretty walking around a "neighborhood" that could be in your hometown and drinking hot chocolate!
