Today was a day like none other...
I was awoken at 9am... and couldn't fall asleep, so I stayed awake..
...and went to the Disney/MGM Studios with DonickCo (Nick) and his brother Don.
The park was wicked busy..... the crowds were so think, I could've suffocated in the open air..
now for the fun schtuff...
we entered at about 10:30-11am, and immediately ran to ToT for Fastpasses... we got em!!! for 4:25PM :hammer:
So from there we had to decide WHAT TO DO... oh WHAT TO DO.. on Good Friday in WDW. We decided we wanted to eat, but we couldn't decide WHAT to eat... the 3 of us being good catholics couldn't eat meat, so we needed time to think. So we wandered around to think and ended up at the Backlot Tour.. so for a ride we went!!!
Nothing really new to report here... there's a nice "driveway" at the end for the trams, to keep them away from the guests, and I was able to see what cars they're using for the stunt show. They're literally even bringing the cars over from Paris (as in Opels... O P E L ! !... then again, I see a Green Corsa with Belgian plates regularly in Orlando.. so I'll shoosh about that now).
From there, we decided on Mama Melrose.... not because we love having italian food in 90 degree weather... but because it was the only restaurant without a line. I had a Flatbread, Coke, and a Heineken... Don had the same but no Heineken (he had some NASTY vodka instead)... and Nick had the Eggplant Parmesan and a seltzer water. So far, so good... it's good friday and we hadn't starved.
From there, it was off to wander around until our fastpasses were up... so wander we did...
I decided to class things up a bit, and had a glass of Muscat for a dessert wine, at the Starring Rolls Bakery..
first thing.. Wine and Rob do NOT mix. And albeit dessert wines can be tasty, this was no exception. It tasted like 14 proof apple juice. Needless to say, after a glass, the wine started reacting with me and I had a stomach ache which I remained quiet about. I then handed the remaining wine to Don, which he downed faster than a Flaming Homer... or Moe... or Homer... or Moe.
From there, we lollygagged another hour in the Sunset area... and discovered that the path leading into the Beauty and the Beast amphitheatre was open and no one was there. So we crept up, step by step... and took some awesome photos of the empty theatre. Then a CM arrived, we apologized, and left...
but we still had almost an HOUR before our fastpasses were up...
so off to animation. We looked around the shops in the area, and did pretty much nothing for an hour. FINALLY!!! It's 4:15... and we swing back by Starring Rolls to grab cokes and run up to ToT..
we rode... and we were done... or were we.
From there, the 3 of us crammed into nicks GTI (not just a car... an ADVENTURE!!) and we went to the Reedy Creek Emergency Services Station 1 to buy RCFD T-shirts.... well good news and bad news. The good news... the people there were REALLY nice and really friendly, and had no trouble with Nick or myself taking photos...the bad news, no shirts They said that it'd be best to just order online, so I'll keep that in mind.
All in all, a good day. My stomach did eventually heal, and it is now 1AM and still NO MEAT. So I'm gonna go now... I'm craving steak and shake...
