Nah, it has much more to do with our classless, I own the world, society.

It's very simple... Sam Eagle knows what happened...

"A Walt Disney World spokeswoman told WFTV that no park guests were arrested or forced to leave the theme park."

Jeezus. Bet they got free FPs to calm them down too.

Disney Manager = "I'm so sorry for your inconvenience maam, and we will gladly replace your bent umbrella that was damaged by that ladies head hitting it randomly and repeatedly. Here, have a free fast pass for Illuminations. Once again, we are SO SORRY."

Forced is a strange word at Disney, just look at Tony Baxter's retirement

What bull hockey.

Kick them all out, trespass them.

True. It could have been rather "strongly suggested" that they leave...or some further action may be taken. Good point. Though, if I'm Disney, I'd just say "heck yeah we kicked them out. We don't tolerate that sort of behaviour here <insert comment about safety of guests and children>."

I should email that VP that was checking out my LinkedIn about this....

Wow. There are no consequences for anything anymore. Adults acting like animals in front of their children, and we just separate them and let them go on their way. They would have been suspended from most schools for fighting like that (if they were school-age), but at Disney, they get to stay in the park and ride with a fastpass. Ridiculous and trashy.

In case other posters are wondering, this isn't even exaggerating. This literally happens most of the time when guests do something completely out of line. Cast members getting punched, shoved, bottles thrown at their head, spit on, threatened... Disney guest service managers reward the guest... and sometimes punish the cast member.

Because its easier than doing the right thing.

Doesnt' surprise me, frankly. I was being a tad tongue in cheek, but honestly I've done it before when I was at CEC. Given people who were in the wrong or behaving badly refunds, passes, free merch just to get them to calm down, shut up and go away. Cause, if I didn't, and they complained to corporate, all heck would come raining down on my head as the GM.

Yeah, I actually cringed when I saw the CM holding onto the younger girl. He's gonna get in trouble.

Me too. Though, I'm not sure what else he could have done. Frankly, that dude standing next to him should have gotten more involved, or the guy filming frankly (but wut wut WORLDSTAR!...gotta get that sideways cel phone footage for my 15 seconds of internet fame!).

I honestly don't think any employee of a huge international corporation need to put their safety at risk for their company. It needs to be said more often, like these Wal-Mart employees who get fired for going after a shoplifter, what are your thinking?? Do you think Wal-mart or Disney would do the same for you?

I really felt for him too. As a teacher, it's really nerve-racking to break up a fight. I'm always worried about getting in trouble for holding a kid back from going after another kid, but in the end, I always do what I can to keep whoever is involved from getting hurt. There have been teachers in this area who have gotten in trouble for breaking up fights, and there was also one teacher recently who got into trouble for not immediately breaking up a fight, even though the fight was quite violent by the time she got there, and she was an older teacher and would have probably gotten hurt (she did call the office, and they were on their way). It just stinks for CM's and teachers that when a fight happens, you're "darned if you do and darned if you don't!"

The issue isn't the safety of the CM. It's that Disney can be sued because of the actions of the CM (and may be). That's why you shouldn't touch guests. As I said, I've seen it from CEC (the silly lawsuits). Never me personally, but I heard rumblings and stories.

All they need is to say that the "CM bodyslammed her against the railing, and now she has permanent back and neck problems that are chronic and difficult to diagnose, but confirmed by her chiropractor." Even the video could be interpreted as him slamming her down, almost like a body slam, against the railing (even though calmer, saner minds would certainly see it as him trying to restrain her and her losing balance), but that doesn't matter.

He shouldn't have touched her, and certainly not in that way (or groping after her later after she escaped...)

Stinks for the CM, but honestly, that's the only mistake he made (and should constitute nothing more than a conversation like I just had from his boss, followed up with a paid day off at the minimum). <shrug>

I know you're right, and it's sad that our society is so "lawsuit happy."
