Construction spending for both projects ramp up in 2028, so I assume 2028 will be the start of construction on both projects.

CFTOD Plans Western Way Road Improvements Starting June 2026​

The CFTOD is moving ahead with interim road improvements at the Western Way and Buena Vista Drive intersection, with construction starting June 29, 2026. The work is a shorter-term fix — covering resurfacing, signal updates, and intersection geometry changes — separate from the larger interchange redesign still in the design phase, with substantial completion targeted around late August 2026.

I hope they put a traffic light in or something on Western Way and the ramp from 429. Trying to make that left turn going toward Flamingo Crossing is more often than not dangerous. You have to jump into the middle section and wait for the clear, and then people behind you get impatient and also jump into the middle section and either cut you off or try to turn when you get the clear, then you have the ones trying to turn left onto the 429 from Western Way. I would assume this area is a well known issue and I hope it gets addressed and prioritized.

It will get signals as well as the ramps getting slightly modified, at least based on the most recent version of the interchange design I can find and what was presented at the meeting for the Western Way project. Marking flags have shown up over the past few months, some landscaping has been removed, and it seems like major work is getting closer to happening.
