My family goes in June not much choice with school and work! Besides my boys both tall and small love SWW. The heat doesn't bother me and one ds but the other and my dh just melt. How do you beat the heat.

You buy " Cooling Bandanas ". There like a neck hankie that has polymer crystals in the middle part, you soak them in water overnight, put them in the fridge, and when you leave your room to invade the parks, just put them around your neck. They will keep you cool for hours, then just repeat the process for the next day.My sister in law sent us 6 of them from Los Angeles,so there not expensive. They come in lots of colours & patterns.Check them out at WWW.Coolbandanas.com.If I remember correct, the company is in Texas. The crystals swell up when frozen and they look cool too.;)

We have tried many different things such as misting fans etc. We found over the years it is best to drink water, cover your head and to pace ourselves, do a cool attractions like country bears, hall of the presidnets and CoP in between all the others to rest and recharge.

Did that last trip and they got quite an assortment for Christmas so to match different outfits. Don't want to look too touristy although I sport a Figment pack!

We always travel in Sept. (late Aug.) and it's hotty hot!!! Here's our survival guide (and some of these have been mentioned)...

- Drink lots of water, even if you don't feel that thirsty. Being hydrated will make you feel better.
- A hat does make you cooler. It may make your head (forehead) sweat a little more (and destroy your hair) but it makes a difference when the sun is not beating down on your face.
- The misting fans are pretty great. They're a pain to carry around but one spray from them when you really need it is worth it!
- Tour in the early morning, spend afternoons relaxing in your resort and by the pool, tour again in the evenings. This plan is the only thing that gets us through the real hot days. Early mornings are lovely, the crowds are low and the temps are not painful yet.
- Spend the hottest days in the water parks. We'll try and check the weather and plan our days accordingly. If there's a couple real hot days during the week, we'll try the water parks during the day and head out to another park in the evening.
- Mix up outside attractions with indoor ones. Little breaks in the AC can be heavenly.
- We try to have our TS meal at lunch time. This isn't the biggest bang for your buck if you're on the DDP but a lunch TS works great for us. If you've had a early morning you're usually ready for a good meal at lunch time. It's a lovely break from the heat and you know you'll be seated and someone will serve you. Lunches tend not to be as crowded, so you'll get seated sooner (and that's less time waiting outside). After a relaxing lunch you're ready to go back to the resort and laze away the day.
- If someone is really feeling the heat and complaining they're tired, get them inside ASAP!

I'm one of those who melts! The heat just.....idk I find myself just sweltering. I make sure I put my hair off my neck, drink toooons if water, and I walk in any shade available. We try and do cool rides and sit on benches out of the heat. I also use the mini mister fans which are LIFESAVERS.

I will tell you though, I end up pretty miserable by around 1. So we go back "home" and enjoy the pool! And then back out to the parks in the evening.

It's funny, I'm used to heat like that in the summer here, where we get to 100 degrees, but the heat here is dry. 80-90 in FL and I'm going nuts! Haha

Step 1: Move to central FL.
Step 2: Stay for 10 years to allow blood to thin out.
Step 3: Enjoy

Side note: Misting fans. If you want to use them, fine. But not everyone likes water sprayed on them in an already muggy climate. Please take care when you use those in line.
